Default PCCB conversion notes and PCCB for sale

I helped one of my buddies swap out the PCCB rotors on his 997.2 TTS. These rotors are the same size as the PCCB rotors on a 997.2 GT3. I thought I'd post up some info.

1) Brembo Type III rotors are compatible with PFC08 pads. Front AND rear. No modification of pads needed. Here are the part numbers:

PFC08 front pads: 7819.08.17.44
PFC08 rear pads: 1299.08.18.44
Brembo front rotors: 102.9008A
Brembo rear rotors: 202.8004A

2) Based on my cruddy bathroom scale that only measures every .5 lbs, the total increase in unsprung mass is 24 lbs (it was 27 on my spyder PCCB swap).

3) Front PCCB weighs 15.5 lbs

4) Rear PCCB weighs 12.5 lbs

5) Front Brembo type III weighs 23 lbs

6) Rear Brembo type III weighs 17 lbs

My friend would like to sell his PCCB rotors to any interested. 380mm front, 350mm rear. The rears are showing the wear indicators, but the fronts still look good. I'm not sure what they are worth since I haven't done the research yet, but if any of you guys that like to buy used PCCBs can give me an idea or PM me, that would be great. Here are the pics:

Right front rotor:

Left front rotor:

Left rear rotor:

The front rotors too? I agree the rears don't have much more left in them.

Paver, my mistake on the part number (looking off an old email). The pads we used were 17mm (fixed the part number). We did not try the 19mm because a) they weren't in stock and b) potential fitment problems with 17mm.

Purchased from GMP performance. Ask for Matt. They definitely fit centerlocks without any modification.

Joe, the offsets are probably different between a TT and GT3. I don't know for sure but I seem to recall that GT3 rotors are NOT a direct bolt-on for TT's.

FWIW the fronts look about 70% and the rears are "expecting". You can probably get another 3-5 hard-driven events out of those rears but they'll start chunking very visibly and very soon.

It depends on which TT. These are off a 997.2 Turbo S. We did a group buy and the part numbers for both the 997.2 GT3 and 997.2 TTS were the same. You are right that some TT PCCBs are different, but in the case of a 997.2 TTS, they are the same.

Thanks. This was my impression as well. Good to hear we are on the same page.

Each rotor has a minimal weight specs on it so weighing them would be the best thing to do and is the right way to figure out how much life is left?

leave it to orthopod to carry bones in their trunk. Nice conversion. I sold my Gen I PCCB off my RS for $5K and they had about 50% life left. That should give you something to work with

Hey Joe,

Just curious - how many total miles on those TTS rotors? How many track days?

Those things don't seem to be all that durable! Probably worth replacing them prophylactically if resale is a concern.

Rotors have 38,500 miles and 6 track days on them. The owner uses the car for DD as well as track.
