Here's the swap and here's the people who did it. And supposedly $30k for the swap.

Hi Jamie,

Well done on the first steps and good luck. Looks like you have most things covered.

If you aren't pushing the rev's (don't recommend passing the OEM 8500rpm anyway) then don't uprate the valve springs, it will put to much pressure on the lifters and cam lobes and valve float happens at north of 10,000+rpm. Don't go much more aggressive on cam lift, just a small % increase and dial in the overlap and timing to suit the cc's.

Run one of Mobil ones race oils. 0W-50 Race is my recommendation due to the high ZDDP.

Looking forward to the updates.

Ranger, I will, getting my ducks in a row first.

Cheers
Jay

How long do you think it will take to complete and what is your estimate for total cost?

Even at stock rpm, the piston speeds will be higher than stock obviously due to the increase in stroke.

This thread is very exciting. I love watching people spend money on cool stuff.

Hey Jay,
Thanks for the info, wasn't doing much higher rate, just a higher quality spring, polished ends etc...

Was thinking about mobile race, joe Gibbs or redline race. I'm sure that's an entire thread by itself I'm sure...

Time is going to be about 8-9 weeks, mainly waiting for rods/crank to be finished. Budget is less than 35 total

Good idea on springs. Run titanium spring retainers/caps.

Any high grade synthetic oil with a high (1500+ppm) of ZDDP will be OK, so its your choice and no need for another 'oil thread' lol!

Interested in the new manifold 4.0 V Carbon custom made.

What exhaust, headers, flywheel and clutch.

VERY Cool project.

Can't wait!

Just in case someone finds my car: http://www.champion-motors.com/web/u...orida/6824746/

It must be green or orange, don't car about miles or options, do a full 4.2L conversion, 4.O pp and clutch, open exhaust, full suspension, real seats, roll bar, big brake kit, slicks...

I like where you are going with this Jamie!

Talking to Eddie about a 200CEL Cat with extra silencers, as he had in one of his recent posts. Or my business partners rep super sprint. Want the engine to breathe, but can't deal with droning. Above 3500 rpm, don't really care how loud!

4.0RS clutch, flywheel, pressure plate.

Still working out the intake manifold bits, fall back is factory 4.0 intake.

Been a week since my last post, was busy getting the pumpkin ready the first track day of the season. Ended up being half a track day as the rain came in, but was still great fun and I'm still no where close to wringing everything out of the car.

Engine is torn down, Cases are cleaned and ready for machining, heads are torn down ready to be rebuilt, just waiting for parts.

So in the mean time, here's a couple shots of the crank and rods:

Yup I hear you buddy.
I paid for the project with three big lump checks and am still waiting for the swelling of those lumps to go down.
