The reason the 997 GT3 forum has ALWAYS been boring, is because there is hardly anything worth doing to these cars. They're really good out of the box...
Yes.. All my other car I can mess around with bolt ons and this and that. This car... Really good out of the box. So tuning department gets boring. Just got to get more coaching and drive more. Driver mod.

Track these cars enough and you will realize how fragile they are
Never had a problem 13K miles so far ... Most of the cars had, and all I can say is user error or 'monkeyness' has a lot to do with it.
Not as stout as the 3.6 for sure.
On a side note, I never money shifted any car ... race or street or DE car, my GT2 was sold with 24K miles and at least half of it track and still had the stock clutch, even after the tranny was opened to replace bearings.
Erik's car will be a good landmark for this matter, as he's Mr. smooth shifting and also very good with rev matching.
Erik replaced clutch pp at same interval as me...there goes that theory

Easy there buddy !!!!

Erik replaced the clutch on his car, first with 20K and a second time with 18K, both because the throw out bearing was fauked ...

Behind the scenes:

The GT forums have the highest recorded traffic in RL's history.

Perhaps new readers / potential buyers are catching up with the cars now that the new GT3 comes without the number 3 at the end.

Just saying..

And don't you dare start a "what my GT3 will worth in 3 years" thread.

You've been warned.

I was gonna add a new thread today..

My car is missing the lug wrench. Should I get that from Porsche or buy that from any autoshop?

don't know about East coast but West coast is popping with all sorts of DE shoot out. Just check out our recent outing at Thunderhill and we are going to have another one end of April.

991? I can't stand the look and it's as bland as tap water but that's just me. There are plenty of exciting stuff here and I can't find another forum with people that can drive and actually know a thing or tow about how car works

GT3 train

shame on me for showing my emotion with my finger

The rear axle steering /PDK / PTV will put the car in limp mode or at least throw a bunch of codes in a 991 prolly.

It has been 8 weeks since last track day, not much to post, except that the French don't like it when you downshift and floor it in an econo rental car to get your picture taken by radar camera while they brake.

Tom Tom is great, it tells you when to downshift...

I hope you OVR guys get good weather. I swore I'd never do an April event at Mid Ohio ever again after the snow storm several years ago but this year the whole schedule got jumbled and ALL the 3 local regions are having their initial Mid Ohio events early this year.
Cold weather gives you hp and keeps your brakes cool. We gotta break in your shiny new LSD. I foresee a run at 36's on the club course in your future.

I'm going to do what I've never done before, drive Mid-O with my shocks in "normal" mode and see just how much faster it supposedly is. Tried it at Road Atlanta last week, but had no previous data to compare. This year we will see if it's really faster on a smooth track like Mid-O.
