You just said what I've been thinking
Cool guy and cars....but a bit overexposed, and I always feel like he's selling something (T-shirts, books, clothes, etc.)

Here's my take: He's in LA (uk originally) and he's very "LA" the guy came here with nothing, built a high-end "rock and roll" clothing company, made a bunch of $, and is now off to his next thing. So yeah, he's always selling and promoting because that is what he does.

A little too much? Probably, but how do you think you break into every rock and roll celebrity wanting your clothes? Exposure.

His cars are cool though.

Pretty much sums it up, but I'm tired of seeing his a$$ pop up everywhere. So typical of the times...

His cars are cool, but I doubt very much they are race worthy masterpieces like Klub Sport Racing or the historic stuff from a place like Square A Motorcars. THOSE are the shops I would like to see more of plastered all over the place. But I guess that's why we have RL and PCA.

So what's stopping you (other than the time spent reading and criticizing this thread)?

Relax... no one was criticizing the thread (or you) ... jeez. It's a discussion on a public car forum about a over-exposed collector.

Totally relaxed. Looking forward to learning more about the other shops.

'Way cooler' is subjective. And since when is marketing and self promoting creativity a bad thing?

he used to track his cars, race PCA and instruct.

all cars are functional yet simple. Not overdone or overpriced like Singer.

Everything Magnus does to a car can be done by anybody. So they are inspiring if anything.

A used magnus car would be good value compare to trying to approx replicate it i would think.

I have one of Magnus Walker's 911's. A 1966 911 SWB that was actually built by Andial before Magnus had it. He added his touch and I think it's a fabulous car. Drives and handles superb. I love it and will never sell it. Here in the UK it's rare too...

I think Magnus has a great eye for pre-73 cars, but I'm not at all interested in his Urban Outlaw fashion brand. He's just cashing in on his new-found minor-celebrity. I guess we'd all do it, but that commercialism doesn't deter me from his vision when working on cars - that's all that interests me.
