No affiliation. Just saw it on 6speed. Thinking this car + a 3.9 or 4.0 build = awesome.

you guys mean... it's the perfect car for Ranger's build/BBI 4.25/Manthey 4.3?

Had the exact same thoughts in my mind when I saw the post on 6speed.

So who's going to step up to the challenge?

It's true that after a total engine build the 58K miles would be irrelevent but don't expect to pay only 30K for the build.
btw has anyone heard more of or seen results of the bbi 4.25 build(s)?
I know they've done 4.0 bore only builds.

If it hasn't seen the track that's a killer deal.

I'd take a car with 60k street miles over one with 7500 track miles any day.

Im crazy but I believe that when the AVG RS reaches this mileage in 5 years or so they will be worth more. Great car, hard to see much depreciating after this....

EXACTLY.

If I didnt have mine, I'd be calling in sick today and driving to SF.

These cars will go a quarter million commuter miles...no engine build necessary.

Bbi 4.25, who cares? No mahle pistons, no go.

.2RS for under 100k!

60k miles makes no difference on the reliability of these cars.

Worst case you do a clutch and call it a day!

sounds like nobody here has a problem with a 60k mile car? Any GOTCHAS to look for assuming all street and a clean DME?

They will only get cheaper in the near term. I still think the strike price is about $85K in about 9 months- next winter cycle. I bet that car will go at $90-92K if the owner is ready to move it.

^^ You think 997.2 wil be at $85k going into winter of 2013? Where would that leave 996 and 997.1? .2RS' are selling from $125-145 right now, so I don't see a 40-60k drop in value in 9 months..

I don't see why not. RS prices are ridiculously inflated.

Wait, what, a tracked-out 3 year old RS for MSRP? What a bargain!!
