Wanted: 997 GT3

Turbo and GT3 are two different animals. Many of us here have had both (several times over) and speak from experience that you are either a Turbo guy or a GT3 guy. I started out with a GT3 and then played the merry-go-roud of cars like most here and guess what we all come back to????? Sure, the Turbo was cool every once in a while when the boost kicks in but it's short lived. Now, if you don't plan to go to the track and you want this as a daily driver, then the Turbo is just fine.

Suggest you carefully read what mooty said. Get the car you want now and avoid the buyer's remorse, have to sell it, and lose money on the way to getting the one you should have bought. Seems you're not sure which animal you really want. Did you try a 3 yet to compare with the turbo? Personally I think just having boost will get stale, whereas everything about a 3 is engaging.

Ideally a GT3; just can't find one reasonable priced. So I'll settle for a modded 997TT sharky's stage 2 for some fun at least this year. Track will be 3+ per year. The TT can fill the void till a GT3 and hopefully a .2 will pop up; I have 2 weeks to find one; or I'll get the turbo. Its a great price for its specifications and a private party. I was going to get a gt3 two years ago, but I wasn't able to offload the turbo. But the test drive was awesome. They took me around this highway to some industrial area (on a Sunday it was dead) and he let me push it a little. It was a different vehicle. Extremely fun and handled a lot better than my TT. Still waiting. Thanks for all the tips... crossing fingers.

I'd keep looking for the 3 you want at as close to what you want for specs and suited for the uses you plan for it. The TT sounds like it may only temporarily fill the void, but what if a great 3 comes up in a month and you're saddled with another TT and can't act on it? I waited a long time, but ultimately it was worth it. Glad I didn't cave to something less just to get back into a Porsche. Here on the forum, my counselling services are free... whether they are useful is another story!

If you pay 5-8k more for what you like.. in the long run, it may be negligible fee. I paid extra to get a .2 gt3 because I wanted a .2. THat was last year. Now, Im thinking that I shouldve gotten a RS. I wouldve paid extra 15- 20k to get a .2 RS.
Point is = dont settle for less

Those that don't have a 3 want one
Those that have a 3 love them and love to drive them and want an RS
Those that have an RS want to keep them......especially now.

^hopefully you're not the Prius owner that upon reaching an intersection with a stop sign but street you are turning into rt or left doesn't- u don't punch on the gas to get up to speed and just wait and wait so it only runs on fully electric and there are 10 cars behind you- I see lot of those owners in San Francisco. Pruis? As long as you stay far on the right lane, you're fine.. got a civic hybrid myself for the daily long commute in the mornings. Mooty's rs is for sale?

find the car you want, if it cost 10k more so be it. you will get 50% of that premium back. and while you own it, you will be much happier know you bought what you wanted.
i bought enough cars to know this by heart. everytime i thought i was saving money, i end up wiht something i dont love. then i sell at a big loss then cough up the money to buy the one i really wanted. so i end up paying a lot more than if i just bought what i wanted the first place.

For me its comparing apples to apples in cost. Modded is fine... gt3 ideal, but I'm also open to a turbo. I just want to try the gt3 at the track as I miss naturally aspirated... but a modded turbo would be fine also. I'd hate to spend more when the exact same one is cheaper. Example the sonnen 2008 gt3 at 88k or cough up 5k and get a .2 one. Overall.. looking for a White on Black Gt3 modded or not with a range of 73k-80k for a 2007-2008 private party. Im getting good leads so far... awaiting RAuid's response... thanks you for everyone with tips and leads. I hope itll draw me to a Gt3 soon... but so far this 997 turbo has caught my eye..
Modded tastefully (IMHO) for a street and track duty machine.
Hit me up PM if interested.
