Ok..I'm set on a white on black gt3 from a private party at 73k-76k. I'm advised to be patient as it will come. I will go as far as Southern California for this. Still may look at the black one from Mooty's friend; but keep them coming please.
Did you check out the silver one over at Newport Maserati? PM me for the sales guy's info who is handling this car. I went by to look at it on Saturday and it was at their other facility, so i didn't get to look at it but got a little info on the car.

Sd? Local in Palo alto. The one at Newport wants 77k. I spoke to them earlier. I'll wait..white on black. I waited 2 years to find my TT in that combo, I can wait...
72k is a great deal; I emailed Mooty's friend but he hasnt responded back to me yet. There's a slight chance I may go back to a TT; but a newer model TT.
TTs suck as track cars, ask me how I know. I bought one of the nicest example in the country last year and drove it once on the track and sold it shortly thereafter. A GT3 is a totally different car and since you are looking at the 997 you have the adjustable suspension so you get more of a cushy ride in town. The GT3 is much more of a driver's car than a TT will ever so be sure of your desired use as I was not and bought the wrong tool for the job.
Just don't want you to make the same mistake I did......Make sure the GT3 is the car you want and buy the nicest one you can find. Nice, well taken care of examples are always worth the price.
Anyone could suggest the best way to search dealer inventories around the country for a 997 gt3 or 997 TT. Seems like cars.com and autotrader.com won't let you specify what kind of 911 you're looking for. Ebay and craigslist won't be very comprehensive. What I've done so far is search individual dealerships on the PCNA website but that is so time consuming. Help would be much appreciated because like OP, I'm also in the market for a 997.1 GT3

select advanced search and enter gt3 in the text box.
