40mm is long enough, otherwise I would not have recommended them. With thick E88 centers, 40mm studs will stick out about 10mm past the end of the lug nut. You want them to stick out more for some reason, go with longer ones. You can get the lug nuts at the dealer or ebay. Your choice...

every porsche specific wheel I've seen uses a ball seat
I've been running MSI studs & nuts for some time on a few cars with very good results.
No breakage, no noticeable stretch, thread issues, etc.

I read Mooty's take, I think he said he replaces them annually (just for good measure).
I "believe" they are sold in sets, had mine done at my Indy because I like paying people more for what the stuff really costs!!!
