Welcome to the Coffee Cup.
Sub 2:20 car at Sebring and even on vintage tires it should run low 2:20's.

LOL

I think the fun is at DE and HSR. Randy might be on to something.

Sub 2:25 is low 20's.
I will believe it when I see it. I have not seen it yet.

PCA GT2 through GT4 (both S and R) records range from 2:12 to 2:19 - all of these are air cooled, most in older chassis.

I know some of these guys and their cars and have no doubt I could get the little red car there within a day. No problem.

BTW - Izz. Gorgeous car. You should have a riot with it...you'll be far more busy in it making it go fast.

That might be going a bit far, maybe NA aircooled cars, but there are some Turbo 993's that are fully capable of under 2:10 at Sebring. Slicks won't get you that far. One of them runs low 26's at Road Atlanta, and that, even on slicks, would be asking a lot from someone like Leh driving it.

Catesby Jones IROC clone runs 2:21 all day on vintage treaded Hoosiers. about the same weight but less hp.

Randy welcome to the 915 gearbox and your days of fast shifting just went down the toilet. No PS is not a big deal when moving but getting used to no ABS will be a learning experience. CFR SCCA has vintage racing at some of it's events and is another local option.

No it won't.

I have been on track with more powerful and as light antiques driven by racers in the DE sessions, faster than moving chicanes, but still slow.

Coffee Cup, unless he switches to slicks, then Gold Cup (at a high cost of $1,000 just on tires per DE day).

Congrats Randy. You'll have to learn to shift nice and slow (heart beat method). You can go and duke it out with Wayne if you're in DE with it. Although Wayne has a little more motor than you :-)

Sounds like a driver problem, not a car capability problem.

Haven't I seen this Porsche in a magazine article about prepping your car for DE and club racing? If not it's a body double.

Beautiful car, have fun, I would club race it and worry more about finishing first rather than ultimate lap times at DE coffee cup deals.
