You're wasting your money if you spend more than $200 for front rotors on a .1 GT3....

Buy a slotted rotor for a 2005 Cayenne S. Fits perfect. No set screws. Buy 5 sets for the price of a "performance" rotor. And they last 15 days. Google it and you'll see a dozen different places that sell them.

Ditto on the PFC08 pads though... Pricey but good stuff. And it works.

Other than the fronts, what are people using for slotted rotors on the rear of o 997.1 GT3? I too have read all the great info on cheap slotted fronts, but haven't heard much, if anything on a cheap slotted rear solution.
I contacted Dan at Harry Dog Grrrage and they are looking into it. If no one has an answer I will post what I find out from Dan's shop.

I use the Girodisc 2pc rotors front and rear with PFC08 and love the setup. You can feel the reduction in unsprung mass (15 lbs total).

Can i use 08 Pads on .2 steel oem front rotors and leave the rear as is?

It is time for me to change the pads... not sure if it is worth changing the oem rotors with it...Car has 13k miles and maybe 150 track miles (very mild) (i do 1-2 events per month) - I dont track it hard likethe FL boyz here...

Change the pads for PFC 08s all around and drive on the stock rotors.

No, just the 350mm small rotor cars. the PCCBs and 2010+ are 380mm

I miss my $82 front rotors. Rear OEM were nice and cheap too. Now OEM front rotors cost me almost $1K for fronts, and they last less then half of the Cayenne S rotors

How is that possible ?
The quality of the OEM rotors is fantastic. I got 23 days out of my front OEM rotors, and could've kept on going, just replaced them for safety.
I Couldn't get more than 10-12 days out of mine on the GT2, and that was pushing.

Cayenne rotors basically lasted forever. Just threw them out about once a year or when the slots almost dissapeared. I'm not that hard on the brakes but I think the current OEM ones have about 10-12 days on them and I'm sure that they will not make it through DM and 4 days of 48 hours

I have a few sets of stock fronts as backup that look the same after 16-18 days..they're not cracked through.

Trust me, they will, I thought the same thing. From 15 days to 23 they were the same, I thought it would make sense to replace ... I don't play with brakes, tires and wheels.
