Other than the fronts, what are people using for slotted rotors on the rear of o 997.1 GT3? I too have read all the great info on cheap slotted fronts, but haven't heard much, if anything on a cheap slotted rear solution.
I contacted Dan at Harry Dog Grrrage and they are looking into it. If no one has an answer I will post what I find out from Dan's shop.

Erik, your OEM rotors last half than the Cayenne rotors ??
How is that possible ?
The quality of the OEM rotors is fantastic. I got 23 days out of my front OEM rotors, and could've kept on going, just replaced them for safety.
I Couldn't get more than 10-12 days out of mine on the GT2, and that was pushing.

I swear I got 23 days out of my stock rotors ... Couldn't even think about that with the GT2 350mm rotors.
Hoosiers not so much. I think after 10-12 heat cycles they are gone, or at least slow ... The Pirelli slicks are same way.
with 8-12 heat cycles they are Hoosier levels, after that you loose another second up to 14-15. After that ... well go home

Price ... only.
In the long run PFCs are cheaper than OEM. They last about the same, but cost less once you offset the cost of the hats.
Proper cooling down is a must for both ...

I run GiroDisc on my 7.2 RS. Would have bought the Brembos, but I couldn't justify the extra $$$.
So far, so good. Hoping to get > 24 track days. OEs were ~ 10.

Speaking of pulling them apart... While I know it's cheaper to reuse hats... Wow that looks like a pain in the *** to undo all those screws and then put them back in again.
Then again if they last 25 days you're not doing it more than 1x a year probably. Twice at best.

Yeah, it's a half hour job but the new PFC hats have a click system that allows you do it in seconds, but they wont arrive for several months and obviously not tested yet

Although my car came with them already installed, I've been very happy with my AP disc setup from Wrightwood, and will probably just continue to buy AP discs until it's time to eventually replace the hats.
However, if I was doing it now for the first time, I'd probably go with PFC for many of the reasons Peter discussed, plus price.

Let's not forget that the OP is running a .1 GT3 with obviously 5 lugs.
350mm Cayenne slotteed rotors for the win. $200 a set. Shipped. Work like a champ. Wear like nobody's business. 18 days on my last set.
Downside, they're heavy. Upside, they're cheap and probably wick away a lot of heat with all that extra metallic mass.
