Circuit of The Americas’ provides updated information on pending track rentals

Circuit of The Americas™ today announced that it would honor track rentals with four organizations that had booked track days and paid rental fees in advance. “We are moving ahead with these agreements and contacting clients so they can share this information with their members and customers,” Circuit spokesperson Julie Loignon said. “The executed rental agreements will limit the number of vehicles we have on track at any given time to ensure a fun and safe experience for participants, including any amateur drivers who will be participating. We regret the confusion that was caused as we worked through these issues with our clients and look forward to providing a one-of-a-kind experience to auto enthusiasts coming to Circuit of The Americas through our track rental program.”

I certainly expressed my opinion there. Kind of leaves a bad taste in ones mouth (COTA not Mark).

I knew we had a hook in when they made a press release earlier in the day referencing "social media." Then it done blowed up. A perfect example of the power of social media when put in the hands of articulate, intelligent taxpayers. Great job! Merry Christmas!

Went from a crummy birthday to a good one! Whew!

+1

COTA certainly pour ice water on the excitement. I will be there to support MVP and if COTA does the same low class act to other clubs then public pressure will continue

This whole episode is a sad state of affairs. COTA has so much to learn.

Very true! I am sure public pressure has shaken some COTA executive's cowboy boots and hope they learn a valuable lesson

Here is latest info from MVP

Good Evening:

Well it's been an interesting day of phone calls and e-mails. About an hour ago, I received a call from COTA to discuss MVP's February 1-3, 2013 track date. They had some concerns about safety and the number of cars on track which were easily rectified through a pleasant conversation. Let me reiterate, MVP's Circuit of The Americas event is back on.

I'd like to personally thank all of you for your patience and support while we worked through this bump on ther track with COTA.

I look forward to seeing all of you at Circuit of The Americas February 1-3, 2013. In the immortal words of Tiny Tim "It's a Christmas miracle". Merry Christmas!

Well guys, at least they had the decency to step back and fix their mistake, they did the right thing.
Please don't be so judgmental, we are all humans and all make mistakes, let's give them the benefit of the doubt, that's all I say.

I had already canceled everything (airline, hotel, etc)....and don't plan to rebook.

Will do 48 hours instead.

What a clusterphuk.
