Default gt2 vs c6 zr1 vs 2013 viper gts

I am in the process trying to find a car under 150k that can compete against the c6 zr1 and the new viper gts. How do you guys think a gt2 modded with exhaust and a tune would compare to these to cars? I ask this question bc my brother owns a 2010 zr1 and my father has pre ordered a new viper gts, we wanna do track days together but we wanna have equally matched cars. Im not much of a vette or viper guy, so i wanted to find something diff. If you guys think its a comparable car, any leads on low mile clean gt2's?

Thanks
Rob

A 2008 GT2 may have a chance if completely tuned in engine and suspension department while staying under the 150k mark.
You may also have to strip it down to fend off the new viper....

My car is not chipped, couple of suspension changes, great setup/alignment.
If a GT2 is your choice make sure it has the CF seats.
GT2 FTW!

New viper is 640hp at 3200lbps and naturally aspirated . Even stock that thing is a monster but with some tuning, sky is the limit (the engine is an 8.4liter behemoth in v10 configuration). They even fixed the interior this time around, I am in love with that car.

Get a 100k gt3 and 50k worth of pro coaching and cheater suspension parts. That should keep you in front of the viper for a couple of years..

I would look into a 997 Turbo S. The performance is more accessible than a GT2's. Has a bigger engine too.

i really want a 10-11 gt3 rs, but when we are not at the track the car doesnt stand a chance on the street. Thats why i thought the gt2 might be my best option. It has the power of the turbo cars and has a lil track blood in her too. i think with the car being setup properly and a good tune im hoping it will run. But yet again i have never driven one so its all speculation to me. Thats why im hoping you porsche guys can steer me in the right direction. i have a competitve family and we all know how to drive, so im trying to make sure i dont put myself behind the 8 ball bc the driver mod's not gonna make up that much. lol

Depends on how good the driver in the Viper and ZR-1 are. A GT3 will not be able to keep up with either well driven. Just not enough oomph.

I'd say yes an 08 GT2 with a flash, exhaust and some coilovers. That will be enough car, after that, it's up to you. That car should trap ~ 130-134 mph and have more aero efficiency doing so. It will have more rear grip on similar tires, and more than likely be the easiest of the 3 to drive hard.

On the track the Viper and Vette will eventually go sliding off the track. Its always just a matter of time. Who cares about the street? You shouldn't be racing there anyway.

A GT2 with a tune, exhaust and som minor suspensionsettings will have no problem keeping up with those cars. trust me.

Thought about a GTR? Easier to go fast in that rather then GT2.

Track days no helmets...not good. Didn't seem like the lines these cars were driving where optimum...lots of missed apex, not tracking out, squaring off corners.

Street racing not my thing anymore. I hear rice burner(GTR) would be king on the street. I have been in a modded 07 turbo that was extreme and probably safer than a gt2. Leaves a lot of money on the table for mods...
