That being said I vote for GT3RS 3.8 and enjoy driving it to the MAX. Their is always a faster car but fast isn't always fun.

Lots on input here already
OP, assuming (as stated in your post) you are concerned primarily with running with them on track (non-racing), and you want a car that can be used on the street too, a GT2 or Turbo S can be set up to run equivalent track times or better. Anything significantly faster between the three will most likely be driver skills and/or $ related.
On the stock GT2 you might consider the following to start:
Suspension (alignment, widen track, stiffer springs, shock re-valve),
GT2 RS intercoolers (or better),
Turbo upgrade & tune / maps.
265 / 325 (or 345 with mods) on 19's combination (18's if you want all new wheels & slicks - will drive up cost estimate below),
Brake fluid & pads,
No need for an aftermarket exhaust (headers perhaps) - most street-legal options don't outperform the OEM Akra setup.
On a $130K car the mods above will probably get you to ~$160K.
IF it has no stories, and is not abused, that Canadian GT2 posted earlier looks like the best deal I've ever seen on a 997 GT2 (for someone who will track it).
Good luck.

lol, i see there is so much love for the gtr.
Does anyone have any info on that gt2 thats in canada? Not that i wanna buy a beat race car, but if it hasnt been hammered and well maintained it might be the way to go. Sure i will get **** from my family bc its a cheater car, but oh well. From the pics it looks like its in a lil rough shape. lol Do you guys think porsche will certify it lol.
Who do you guys recommend to set up what ever car I find?

150k + awd + 800 whp + leh keen and I would think anything would be fast. Not very impressed with Catesbys driving. Sharif would go significantly faster in that car. Even still until there are comparable drivers in similarly prepared cars, its just a bunch of bazookas at a hand slap contest. And those cars certainly can't do more than a handful of laps at pace.

The money appears to be all top dollar parts thus the owner didnt cut short cuts... he either really knew how to drive or has way too much money to burn.
If i had this car i would podium targa NL 2013 and cheat all the D.Es i could get my hands on
Realistically, i would install GT2 seats and factory steering wheel to give a more street appearance. Most likey remove front roll bar too....
If one could get their hands on the stock parts with this car it would be a bargin.

LOL!!! Don't need to talk or ask anyone about what that car can do or has done. Been there, done that, seen it... NOT IMPRESSED.

You all need to get over the GT-r. Talk to Leh Keen or Catesby Jones about what well set up and modded GT-r can do. Now it ain't cheap as both their cars have north of 150k invested.
That being said I vote for GT3RS 3.8 and enjoy driving it to the MAX. Their is always a faster car but fast isn't always fun.

Wow..161mph down the front straight. I think the GT3RS is only seeing 150. I wonder what a properly set up well driven GT2RS would do...but then again it's around $150K more than a GTR...hummm
