That is what I keep hearing...GTR breaks at the track and can't do more than a few laps with out over heating. I'll stay with my reliable GTS wanna be aero beetle...heck I've perfected the point by for you GT3RS guys.

He sold his GTR and bought a 997.1 RS. I think the topspeed gtr used to be his.

He still has a GT-R. Just not a newer one.

As for the R35 GT-R, they are fast, they are heavy, they are good for a lap or two under HOT conditions, maybe more when cooler. Things that scare me off that car- trans fluid cost, brake rotor/pad cost, and the fact I am not a fan of V6 engines in sportscars. I much prefer high revving I6 engines in the old Skyline GT-Rs.

Oh, you mean the R33 (or is it R34)? I saw it at Road Atlanta once. Super rare car in the states.

A good tuner shop and about of $30k will fix most of issues, as of 'breaks' comment - it is all relative. I see those cars all the time and they usually work fine, I see z06 cars dragged to pits way more often.

But I would never prefer it to cheap nice 997 car I have. Cheaper the better, as they all brake down in the end.

BCNR33 is a bit rare in general, lowest production of the three models. His is a BNR34. Mine is a BNR32. Only one with race pedigree is the BNR32. There are about 100 Skyline GT-Rs that are legally registered in the US, and a bunch more being hunted down by ICE for Customs and NHTSA and EPA violations. Thank our fantastic government bloat for that- DHS going after a couple dozen illegal cars.

I know a bit too much on the subject.

That still does not detract from the R35 GT-R's ability. It is very quick, but like any car out there are issues big and small, and it all depends on you whether they are within your tolerance.

Yes, but on worn/undersized R6s the 900Hp GTR would do 1:11s, so not even close, these two cars are 2 time zones apart.

RRR is a momentum driving track, take the same two cars to a track where gas can be used at 100% for longer (pretty much most tracks out there) and the difference will be even bigger.

Godzilla with the extra 300whp, lightening and Aero is unstoppable.

Rad is not wrong with that assessment. Single flying laps are the R35 GT-R's forte. Hard to compete with that, IF single flying laps are your target.

yup. GT3 is no match for twin turbo GTR.

The turbo S is the answer to the GTR....turbo vs. turbo. Realistically a GT2 is what one needs to run with a GTR.....

The porsche cost more to buy of course, but can run lap after lap etc....

Sometimes these comparisons get funny. I don't care how fast or slow a GTR is. I don't want one no how no way. Will take my "slow" lowly .1 beetle.

Fixed. They bottom out at about 3400-3500 for a race car. The weight becomes a factor eventually, and there is only so much hp the GT-R can use.

You guys just need more ponies (and maybe some AWD) Laughable to even compare a stock powered RS to a GT-R with 900 hp. Shouldn't even really be mentioned.
