Instead of the Landbruiser get a Tundra. Much better at towing a smaller enclosed trailer.

^ Longer wheelbase and heavier are key for smooth towing.

I like the Tundra, but he luxo LX570 is a great excuse to buy for a family hauler and trailer duty.

Have a Trailex 8045 and love it. Enclosed maybe someday. Traded my ML350 for an F150 Platinum with Ecoboost. Love it. They are as plush inside as my ML, have EVERY creature comfort and electronic, have a long wheelbase for towing, a standard capacity of 9,800, and 11,300 if you get the next size up rear end (3.71 I believe), and you can get one brand new for 46K or so if you can work a good deal.

FYI - F350 diesel loaded (lariat package) is only ~10K more than that.

That's what I wanted, but couldn't even fit a 250 in my garage. As it is, I have to remove the hitch to get my garage door down with the 150 and shortest bed! Makes a nice DD though.

Yeah, mine has to sleep outside. It will fit in the garage but barely - more trouble than its worth on a daily basis to squeeze it in there.

Or a few k more for duramax Denali

Any gas engine has no low end torque

My 22' ATC w/car and stuff is 8k ish lbs....sway control installed

First moved it from Tampa to Orlando with my x5 35d. The truck is not rated for this. Plenty of torque, moved it fine. The trailer owned the truck though. Too short of wheelbase. Semis would sway the load.

Next I towed from Orlando to savannah ga and back using lollipop 2010 f150 with the big v8. Suspension on f150 is too soft. The gas v8 lacks torque

In my opinion no matter what you tow you must tow with a diesel. From there find a truck that has the proper suspension, brakes, cooling and wheelbase for a stable cruise at 90 mph

Same with me....I drove all three

Ford looks more like a truck

I like the pimp chrome on Denali.....I tinted all the windows so people think a rapper is driving it

Now I must shop for bazooka tubes

EcoBoost gas engine has same torque at 2500rpm that the 6.2L Powerstroke has at 5,000.

I also just used it once to try it out . My brother might actually be interested in selling it again if he can't figure out a way to store the trailer at his house without his associaton complaining (not enough garage and driveway space).

Let me know if your still interested in an open trailex, because from the sound of things, you may end up with an enclosed.....
Chris, sent you a PM....unfortunately

Ford diesel rev to 5 k for torque

Fail if true

Duramax 765 ft lb @ 1600 rpm

U use low end torque for towing

I'll go ahead and get a 54' with sleeping quarters since I'll most likely be selling my house...hope Scout the dog doesn't mind sleeping in a car trailer
