Pagid RS 29 to PFC 08

Default Pagid RS 29 to PFC 08

My Pagid pads are giving more and more brake fade than I can live with....even with more than 50% pad material left.
I changed B fluids to be sure it wasn't something else in the system.

I see and hear a lot about PFC 08 pads being better (no bedding required) and lasting through mechanical life of the pad material.

Using the OEM stock rotors on the 4.0, I would like to ask if the part numbers below are the correct PFC08 pads to order.

0991.08.17.45 front
1299 08.18.44 rear

Also, I track my car ~ 10 days a season for local DE events and wondering if it is worth changing to SS braided brake lines?

I am puzzled, on my RS I have no brake fade and never have with RS 29's on OEM rotors. Is it possible that you didn't break in the pads correctly? That's the usual reason for fade, glazed pads. I use Gulf 1000 brake fluid (Lauzon has it in stock) and never get fade. Oh, one other thing, check the holes in the rotors, if they are full of pad material, braking is reduced since gas released has no place to go.

I don't have a GT3RS but I can tell you that after years of Pagid Yellows and Black I just tried out PFC08 and have 5 DE days on them and they are everything people say...just an awesome track pad and perfect to drive to the track on too.

I found the same issues with Pagid pads they fade and offer less and less braking even at 50%. I really feel that for 1 long endurance race the Pagids are great but after they heat cycle and are used like DE guys use them they get worse and worse...PFC08's do not have these issues.

Also Clark at Apexperformance.net (forum sponsor) is where I suggest you get your PFC pads from...great guy, great prices, great service.

PFC no bedding required always good pedal even with solid rotors. Bob, you are missing out on Pagids I promise. Try at least one set PFC.

Your part numbers are correct:

0991.08.17.45 front 0991 is the shape of the oem front rotor and you need 17mm because stock rotor.
1299 08.18.44 rear is same as oem.

How do you like the control and release characteristics? Do you feel you can trail brake as good on the 08's ?

I am always a little bit biased on the PFC because of my racing experience with PFC over Pagid. But every time I drive a car with another brand of pads in it I can immediately tell the difference. Run these over a long period of time and the brake fade or change in braking performance becomes obvious over any set of PFC I have ran.

The PFC 08 pad is a great pad. No bedding is required, they are like new at half life and they are great on a GT3.

Much better because they are always the same. Pagids with 4 days at 50% you nevver know what you are gonne get after a few flyers....

Even without dealing with pads at 50% life the PFC control and release are better in my mind than the Pagid. PFC08s have great initial bite but not harsh enough to trigger the ABS. As the heat gets into the pad it really starts to work and modulation of the pedal is easier. The release is a nice smooth release allowing easy trail braking that won't overload the front end of the car or upset the back end. THis is the same on the pad from Day 1 to the end of the product.

Listen to Seth and Trakcar...these guys have experience. The PFC08's are really that much better with everything...wear....feel...easy of use with no bedding than Pagid.

Pagids suck.

PFC08's are excellent, and are good all the way to the backing platte. IMO, PFC06's are even better...

RS29 are eduro grade compound, it cannot fade, it is impossible. they do not bite in as hard as PFC but PFC do heat up rotors more and you`ll get cracks on rotors faster. that is why RS29 is preferable if you have fast tracks with a lot of braking (less heat to dissipate compared to PFC) and run long sessions (do not eat rotors as fast as PFC).

rs29 requies more pedal pressure compared to PFC but those pads do not fade.

No matter where you buy them, Apex, OG, my shop.... just test them, and let me know.
I had Pagid on my GT2, and never liked the feel, had to replace them more often that I liked it.
I run PFC 08 on my RS and never looked back, btw I run them all the time, and don't even squeal on the streets like Pagid, for those thinking about street use.
Really the way to go !
