Mine's always stayed charged with no issues as long as no one leaves any equipment (radio, racekeeper, etc) running all night.

Default Just Installed a Braille i48CE in my .2 GT3

After being a total bonehead, I tried without success to revive the factory battery go completely dead in my 997.2 GT3. https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif In fact, I think the CTEK 7200 well and truly cooked it during the "reconditioning" process. https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/rtfm.gif

So, as the saying goes, when one receives lemons, make lemonade. In this case the lemonade was quite pricey. Fortunately, the authorized Braille Battery dealer (Advanced Battery Systems) is only an hour and half down the road for me in Los Angeles. I picked up my i48CE this morning. Dropped in in this evening and I'm back in action (although all of the onboard computers are now in re-learn/re-set mode). I may actually need to run by the dealer to make sure everything is really "o.k."

FYI - Advanced Battery Systems offers a RL discount (which was way better than the $75 off (more like $180 off based upon the MSRP from the Braille Battery website). I also picked up a Optimate Li charger for $80, which comes with a quick connect pigtail and standard terminal clamps. The charger base is wall-mountable and the charging lead is quite long (@ 6ft) and can be extended to up to 21ft with an Optimate extension cable accessory.

Here is the contact information for Advance Battery Systems:

Quick question. Is this CTEK battery tender/charger safe to use?

$180 off for a Braille is still not as good of a deal as buying a Deka

No idea, but Braille has a charger that goes with the battery. And considering what these batteries cost and the interest of keeping the warranty, I wouldn't wing it.

My battery is still going strong. I had it in the GT3, sold that and it went into the 914. Sold the 914 and now I'm going to move it into whatever comes next. Battery for life

My battery came with the charger but the leads to the clamps are not connected well on mine. I love my Braille lithium and the discount here.

Another question. I have an Intensity i48CE (http://www.braillebattery.com/index....atteries/i48ce) and one retailer (on a corvette forum) was claiming an auto shut off feature for this series of batteries. Is that true? I didn't read it anywhere in the description.

I'm not familiar with the battery you bought but as far as I know their product line does not have cut off switches. Then again it's been a couple years since I bought mine, but at the time they were not doing it.

These really should be stored on a tender anyway, as the cut off switch is a last resort before the battery goes completely dead. And you don't want to be running them up and down to depleted on a regular basis like that.
