Can these batteries be charged/maintained with the standard tequipment trickle charger maintainer? It says to only use it on lead acid batteries, should I avoid it?

The trickle charger that came with the braille battery seems to run a little hot for me to leave in an arizona garage connected to power unattended.

I leave mine unattended in a hot florida garage. Wouldn't worry about it. They suggest using their tender as it's designed for a lithium battery. Something about not going into a de-sulphering mode or something like that. Don't remember specifics. The braille tender wasn't expensive so I consider it cheap insurance for a relatively expensive battery.

Well, the wires on the tender are too short to get to the battery without the tender being out of the trunk. I am just afraid of leaving it inside the car trunk.

I leave my trunk open and rest the tender on the shelf next to the battery. Works find.

Agreed on it being short and I've brought that to Braille's attention. However, doing what I'm doing works just peachy.

Just put my order in. I called up Braille, and Gary still honored the same original RL deal from this thread, $75 discount and a free charger. Pretty cool.

35lb weight loss, and a bit less hp loss from drag on the alternator will be appreciated. BOP adjustment for DE Cup....lol.

Thanks for the legwork DD95.

I've had the battery in the non-RS and my RS and it works great. My car only gets driven on weekends so it sits for 4-5 days and it fires right up (cranks better than the OEM battery). When the car was at the dealer for the PS line replacement for 2-weeks, I dropped off the trickle charger with them just to be safe. Great battery!

The deal they have they have for rennlist members includes a tender for the lion battery. CTEK also has one for lion that looks identical to the normal one but has charging curves for lion.

For convenience, I wired a ctek connector onto the braille charger since I wired a jack under the hood for my tender.

I've been absent for a while... Sold the GT3 and bought a 914-6 race car. It's cheap to the run the GT3 in comparison

Anyway, still using the battery. We moved it into the 914 and still going strong.

This is the nice thing about this battery. Even though it's expensive, unless you have a size limitation on your next car, you can continue to use the battery over and over.

I don't remember why as it's been a while since I researched it, but you should you really use an appropriate charger on these batteries as the lithium batteries have a preference as to how they like to be trickle charged.
