Guys, I was actually at Baron's house a couple weeks ago to just check out his beautiful RB 4.0 and the first thing I told him was how much better the 4.0 wing looked over the 3.8! He did not even tell me that it was not factory until I stopped by a few days later. This is how the car should come from the factory and I have already ordered a set. The visibility is great, but the look is what really does it for me.

So have we confirmed these will work on 3.8? Also, can they be anodized black?

Better visibility, Better look, and even more downforce (3" taller wing). Win-Win-Win.

Funny you mentioned the down force.

When I first saw these uprights, my initial thought was that if somehow the design could have incorporated a multiple hole design, similar if not identical in design to that found on the actual wing used for adjustment, then the wing now placed 3 inches higher could actually be set at a slightly reduced angle and still generate the same down-force with less drag. And, alternatively, if the rear strut Hole was a 3in1 design (More, Same, Less) then you could set it to an even higher level of downforce.

I thought about this a bit, and the design of the rear wing attachment is long enough that it could probably be made to work but the front attachment is very short and its length probably means you couldn't use this part.

I think this is a great product for what it gives - the ability to see out your rear window - and you can still open your trunk - besides the money i can't see why everyone with a 3.8 and 4.0 would buy these.

Congrats to the OP who designed these - great idea.

I would ask, did you think about a multi-hole design, similar to the rear wing attachment point - could it be done?

The notion would be to use a similar type hole on the wing and put it on the support.

Can someone design an extension piece for the stock mounts at a more reasonable price? It sure seems like 2 or 3 inch extension pieces could be made that would accomplish the same thing for a lot less money! The rear pieces could be made in different lengths to change the amount of downforce needed for 4.0 and 3.8 applications. Just a thought - Sharky you up to the task????

I have a 2011 GT3RS... same rear view problem.
I really need a pair, must confirm if they would work on the 2011 RS.

Yes, GROUP BUY!

Foolish question, we all use the RS on the track, will the different wing position change the downforce...handling, better or worse?

Porsche engineers know their stuff, it was placed in that position for a good reason, they obviously knew it obstructed rear vision, could there be a MAJOR issue by changing its position?

Yes, wing position/angle will change downforce and will change the handling. For example more rear downforce may allow you to get better traction out of medium to high speed corners or could affect your turn in (possibly creating oversteer). Less rear down force will have less drag at high speed and can keep more weight on the front wheels at speed but could compromise maximum drive out of corners.

It all is a balancing act, front versus rear, drag versus downforce. Change things in small increments and understand the results.

Good luck. We definitely adjusted rear wing angles depending on track and conditions, even based on tires.

Just saw this car today .... <Ahem> 2012 RSR ... Only one in Italy and one of the 12 made as far as I know.
The wing strut seems pretty similar, no?

Wondering why it's in the shop? This will give you a little clue ....
