Fast 4.0 at Laguna Seca this weekend

May want to see who signs up. If we have a bunch of non-street tire folks and few pleasure drivers might divide the unlimited class into street legal and non-street legal (race cars) and combine the first two classes. Or simply run the first 1/2 day, submit times (or no time == pleasure) and divide equally by time so each group is as close to the same set of times as possible
When POC, grids the TT group by time in the previous session it makes the next session super smooth from a passing perspective.
my 2 cents.
If I can find something with more that 3 wheels (and hubs) I will try to be there.

Lol...good idea.
Ok, so how about three groups per day, six or seven 20 minute sessions each?
Group 1. Fun/slow/pleasure drivers.
Group 2. Street legal tires only.
Group 3. Unlimited
Best timed lap in any session of the three days? Three days or two days? Seems Fri/Sat/Sun makes sense if you are going to travel in? (track is 40 minutes from the airport btw)
Call it the Nevada Nurburgring Invitational? Have shirts made with a graphic on the front of Jesse standing in front of his 4.0 holding a wad of bills in one hand and pointing with the other. Cocked head and a dismissive sneer. Verbiage on top says: "Nevada Nurburgring 2012" and on the bottom "I Run Flat-out and My Line is Exquisite!"

Ok, am meeting with a couple folks this afternoon to discuss this and now that I have fully, totally, and completely hijacked The Stiglets thread (for which I feel terrible), will start a new thread

Sign out for a couple of days and look what you miss! This is an amazing idea and I'd love to participate. If you need any help with admin stuff Pete, let me know. Would love to help make this happen.

ACR Hardcore 1:33 edition with 4-way Penske shocks, power upgrades, Stop-Tech brakes, huge CF splitter, Hoosier R6 295/345
We'll have a rematch at POC Laguna in August. But I'm actually thinking I should propose a standing challenge to all Porsche owners:
$500 prize to anyone who can beat my time in a street 911 (any street legal version) with Hoosier R6 tyres. Aero, suspension & engine must be stock. Safety and brakes are free. Video and official timing are required to be published. Obviously GT2 (RS) owners have the biggest potential. If you beat me on video, we'll setup a head-to-head shoot-out (which will be a huge amount of fun!), where we'll wager another $1000 for the winner!!
Do you think they'd be any takers? We can call it "The Porsche Laguna Challenge"!
Thoughts?

Pete....since this is supposed to be a track that not many have experience at to level the playing field, care to share your amount of experience there?
Also, want to let everyone know of the interesting bumps (or should we call them sink holes) in turn 20 on the large track?
Bruce
BRracing
(PS...we will be happy to bring a group, and bring our 997.2 GT3 to play)
(Street legal also meaning currently registered and licenseed for the street)
(we would vote for R6 tires though for all....just to stir the pot)

I like the way this sounds as we have a lot of client's who would love to come to an event like this with their cars.........in fact, that was the idea behind the GTGP event in 2010.
Savyboy.....not sure if you participated in the event, but you are the first to tell me the event was the "worst run event".....?
It's not easy to put an event on like the one we did at Laguna as it takes a lot of time, management and patience but most I spoke with had a blast and there were many asking when the next event was to take place?
I would think Laguna would be the best place for this type of event as it's such a famous circuit and the lap times don't alter based on the track. But you would want to have the unlimited sound in effect as the 92db kills most modded Porsches.
We have a very well prepped GMG 3.8 RS owned by a client that time trials it now that I would love to see how fast it could go at Laguna......it's pretty quick for sure......I'm in Jesse.
Btw, nice driving Jesse.....you keep getting faster!
And it's time you tell Gary in his Viper to switch over to the Porsche......the time is now..... :-)

If you can get the sound limit squashed once again, and put together a good 3Day TT/Racing/DE event, consider me in. Laguna does have more appeal to me than Fernley. More signature turns and really fast sweeping corners. I'd still go to Reno, but an unlmiited Laguna is worth the extra mile IMO.
