Slightly off topic guys...but I'm trying to track down some video footage from the 1pm session. I had an O **** moment coming out of 10 with a black Porsche behind me and was wondering if anyone here caught it. It was probably 1-2 laps from checkered.
Eddie, agreed with track conditions...consistent 2-3 seconds off normal pace.

Good catch. Actually, the Cayman R (when optioned right) is a decently fast car.
It did 1:41 at Laguna on street tires (Bridgestone RE-050) compared to the MPSC in the 2007 GT3 that ran 2 secs faster.
The 3.4 9A1 engines on the dyno are running close to 290 whp compared to 255 whp for my 3.4 M97 engine. The Cayman R got the lightweight doors, A/C delete, radio delete, lighter body kit, RS door panels, and the Carbon GT2 seats. Wheels are very light too (12 lbs lighter than the stock Cayman S wheels).
Downside of the Cayman R, price. It costs used as much as a 997.1 GT3, and the GT3 is vastly superior in all dynamic performance figures (and fun to drive factor).
The 981 Cayman S should be even lighter and more powerful than the Cayman R, but at 2007 GT3 prices, the GT3 is the best value.

i still love the cayman r. i think it represents the best compromise between street/track if you had to do both jobs(not to the extreme) in the one car. the price is still way too high here as well (150k used, was 180k new).
i like the 987.1s (70k) but heard stories about cooling and oiling issues when tracking.
on the street it is fine?

You have to come to PBOC Super solo with us. Great times there.
Your car is gorgeous. How did your dad do ?

Thanks guys.
Orbit, We usually do run Super Solo with everyone (last time was Winterfest back in January)...just haven't been out much this year. My old man had fun, his second time out...he got tired of watching me have all the fun. I guess I lost my pit crew with him focusing on his own car now.

Here's SSJ and I running around before the brakes quite. Considering this is his second event in the new to him GT3 (I think its second), he's really getting the hang of this car vs his 997.

Hyboost, have drooled over your car for the last year. One of the more badass cars I have seen. Very well done....

Here's the whole video from Rad's session. The bobble head in the passenger seat is El Matador. Rad is there for the first few laps and then must have pulled in or something as he doesn't reappear again in the mix till the end. JP, Izzone, Hyboost, & greek all make guest cameos at one point or another. At the 9 min mark I attempt to drag race JP down the back straight. It ends much as you'd suspect Greek makes an appearance shortly after that and I drag raced him as well down the front straight. Not nearly as bad, but still a "L". 4.2 kit would be sooooo nice

It does laptimes. However, it cut my laps in half and doubled the times so I just left that data off. I've never seen it do that before.
They keep telling me I need to delete the SF line and reset it, yet they haven't told me how to do that yet and I can't figure it out. Out of dozens of track days, this is the first time it did that. RK corporate looked at it and said it was reading fine for them so clearly I'm greeking this up somehow.

I could not get turn five right, really slippery. I need a lot more seat time to progress. Example; turn 7 and 10 are the two turns, I am having issues with. Mostly with turning in too early, or not turning the wheel enought. Today I realized on turn seven I was so focus on breaking that my handgrip on the wheel sort of prevented me from turning the wheel. All this stuff can be fixed with more seat time and coaching. It is interesting everyone posting videos has a different line. And then, there is the DE line... Grrr, being a newbie sucks!
