Very good idea. Learning to drive a Miata fast will teach you a lot about not relying on big horsepower to be quick.

The guy that coached me last drove a Miata to a race win at Winterfest then also drove a cup car in the Rolex 24. He raves about the Miatas and Formula Fords.

For NASA shoot Jon Felton, the big Cheese, your track history and experience and let him know what your goals are ie TT or WTW. He should get back to you with where he thinks you will fit in to start.

In the Florida section of nasaforums you can register, and contact John Felton (Florida NASA Director), and Mark McKay (Florida Time Trials Director).

They run affordable events, the Time Trials group is talented. Nice group of people, fun events, I like the download meetings.

In time trials, you can win money and tires, many sponsors in the Time Trials series.

Update: I thought I was done for the summer, but will do the NASA event next weekend. They will see how I do in HPDE4 then move me to TT the next day if I do ok. Looking forward to it! Thankfully I have a cool suit!

Sweet. That was my route HPDE4 for a day and then provisional TT. Be sure you don't put 4 off or spin in HPDE4 as they will be watching. . Also be sure to not miss the download meetings after every track session.
