no video, no data , no proof for Juan, still mid 2:21 is what people run in the Gold Cup, I thought the 4.0RS was in the Platinum Cup, but car alone doesn't make a class, it is the car and driver combination.
4.0RS at the Ring 7:27 secs, 06 Cayman S 8:25 secs. Close to 1 minute difference at the Ring, and close to 20 secs at Sebring, I could run a 2:41 to match Juan's performance (indexed time), but 41s are not enough to go by the DeputyDog's Aero Beetle.

Race Studio 2 (the wonderful AiM software from my SmartyCam/Solo DL) says maximum horsepower 296.9 HP at 6,600 rpm, maximum torque 239.5 ft-lbs, test weight 3,250 lbs (driver+car+all fluids).
On heat cycle number 21 skinny R6 on brick heavy Chinese knock-off Turbo Twist narrow wheels, the best lap was 2:xx.xxx, so your Aero Beetle needs to run a 2:15 to match it, and Juan needs a 2:08. Do the math.

I don't have enough fingers and toes. What was your best time on Saturday? And why was your engine compartment cover missing? And why were you running 98 octane? What was your best time on Saturday?

Race Studio says 2:28.891, Happy now?
The carpet panel on top of the engine compartment isolates the engine sound too much, so I can't hear my engine with a helmet, I take it out, saves 10 lbs and I get to hear the engine.

Eddie - I think Toyos maybe have one more event at HMS.

Here's SSJ and I running around before the brakes quite. Considering this is his second event in the new to him GT3 (I think its second), he's really getting the hang of this car vs his 997.

5 secs off from your times a few weeks ago, big difference.

No grip. Really bad first session out. Thought I was driving on bricks.

Slightly off topic guys...but I'm trying to track down some video footage from the 1pm session. I had an O **** moment coming out of 10 with a black Porsche behind me and was wondering if anyone here caught it. It was probably 1-2 laps from checkered.
Eddie, agreed with track conditions...consistent 2-3 seconds off normal pace.

Plenty of testing done, same procedure, same driver, one of the best worldwide sources for non-biased opinion, although Horst Von Saurma is a Porsche fanatic.
8:25 2006 Cayman S http://www.sportauto.de/supertest/po...g-1040968.html
8:17 2009 Cayman S 987.2 (9A1 engine 320 HP + LSD + PDK) http://www.sportauto.de/supertest/do...d-1566170.html
8:10 2011 Cayman R (9A1 engine 330 HP + LSD + PDK + lightweight) http://www.sportauto.de/supertest/po...k-4022553.html
7:30 2011 GT3 RS 4.0 (500 HP and Carbon everywhere) http://www.sportauto.de/supertest/po...n-3958038.html
At Laguna Seca, tested by Pro drivers (Motor Trend):
'06 Cayman S 1:47.58
'09 Cayman S 9A1 PDK 1:42.95
'11 Cayman R PDK 1:41.64
'07 Porsche GT3 1:39.57.
'11 GT3 RS 3.8 1:36.77 (yes, my Cayman is 11 secs slower at the small Laguna Seca).
My Fiat is 9 secs slower at the Ring than a 4.0RS, but somehow you manage to go slower than my Fiat around Sebring rather than 3 secs faster. Puzzling.
