Less than $20k including parts and labor, I agree that the 458 Italia is overpriced, around $300k and still in need of another $20k on mods. Scuderia at almost 1/2 the price makes more sense, and has been track tested much more (through the sibling F430 Challenge), it doesn't need as many mods as the 458 Italia to be track day decent.

If you don't want to replace the Cup engine with a street 996 GT3 engine to keep the car legal in most of the Club Racing classes, the engine refresh cost is decent, and you can always buy spare engines from wrecked cars.

As you may have gathered Rad and I do not always see I to I, But he is spot on with his 6Cup idea. He is correct in the cost as you don't need to run slicks and when the light switch cup clutch gives up put a street GT3 clutch in. It will be much easier on axels and tranny. Best part is it won't be worth any less when you sell it.

I heard someone is working on a new 4.2L engine. WEST Coast!!! And a FL dude is getting it on his RS.
Reter,
4.2L motor, then you can play Corvette with Rad down on the straight at Sebring.

That's smart. My student at the last Sebring event has a 599 GTB HGTE, what an impressive car, I like it much more than the 458 Italia (not a fan of the heavy Italia). The 599 GTB tranny has such a mechanical kick on upshift, like the Scuderia, but massive torque and acceleration.
Then, there is the mighty 599 GTO, 200 lbs lighter, and with much more power. Then there is the list of 599XX aero parts and lightweight parts catalog available (but pricey) as bolt-ons to any 599.

Check this out, you might be able to run the next 30 track days before an engine rebuild.

I know, I talk to them every year. maybe at some pt they throw me a bone lol. seriously though, I know I won't b able to get a new car as I don't have the money to run imsa, WC, etc and more importantly no real talent. however dream is free and I'm awfully fast in my dreams.
