track tire pressures

I would guess that other than running heavy banked tracks, alignment should be similar across the board for most DE drivers on regular road courses. I run -3.5 up front and around -2.5 out back on hoosiers. That also seemed to work well with the SS' and the pyrometer readings came in generally around 180. I suspect they are really closer to 200 though as I checked them myself after I drove in off track and there is a 1-2 minute delay. I use a probe unit from long acre that also has infared. I noticed about a 8-10 degree difference between the two and am assuming the probe is the right number.

I run a 12" wide rear with 305's. Michelin and everyone else says 11.5 is max width for 305"s...however Porsche sends out the GT3 on 12" rears with 305. This is 1/2" past the recommend max from tire manufactures.
Right now I'm running either 235 or 245 on a 8.5" wide front....I get this it's not optimal and I hope to be selling my wheels for a different set of track wheels.
Thoughts and opinions please!

Larry...or anyone educated on this....

I think you either have to trust Porsche chassis engineers (who did this with Michelin tire engineers when they homologated the N spec 305 MPSC's on the GT3's) or you have to imagine that they f*cked up or had a stack of 12" rims doing nothing behind Zuffenhausen and an accountant somewhere had a bright idea ...

Mdrums- I wouldn't worry about it. 1/2" one way or another isn't a big deal. It may not be optimal but it's far from a bad fit, definitely within the realm of the ballpark. The 19" sidewalls are quite tall and can accommodate the difference.
