track tire pressures

My best on RE11 3 weeks ago at Sebring was a 2:25 (2:24.9, not like delusional trakcar calling 2:18.999 a 2:18).
Lap time difference between RE11 and Pirelli DH slicks (hardest of 4 compounds) was 8.5 secs, and using the AiM Race Studio, TBL difference was 9 seconds.
Leh on PSS vs. the Dog on R6, I bet on the Dog.

It was technically a 2:28.7 if that makes a difference
Trust me, I was trying! Weird thing about them is when pushed on high speed turns, they drift. I got the crap scared out of me more than once in 1 and 17. Usually you can set a line and hold it with a rcomp. These tires allowed the car to slowly drift out more than planned, slowing down your ability to get back on the gas. It was almost like it was continually skipping a few inches at a time as you tracked through the corner. I slowed it way down after running over the exit curb on 1 a few times in a row.
You were out there that day in your rustang And I thought you were on SS' too. What times were you knocking down? What did Ian manage on them? He was out there too right?

I agree they do carry a lot of slip angle but it was very manageable. Exiting 1 the car would definently slip but never let go.

Cool, I beat Ian then
It's a def a good tire. And it's great on the street. The wet performance is fantastic and they seem to wearing like iron. I just wouldn't expect to set any track records with them.
I find the slip angle a little disconcerting. I guess you could drive around it so to speak and adjust your style to compensate. While I had a ball on them at Nola which is a little relatively low speed track, I didn't walk away with the same grin factor at Sebring.

No, I don't like 4 wheel drifts where there are large concrete walls
I can't believe the camber is so limited on those cars. I thought that was the "track day" version. I'm getting great wear with around 3.5 up front and 2.7 out back (negative of course).

Then put a blower with 800Hp and crazy wings, and you will win your first DE.

Leh would out run you if you drove your gt3 and he was driving your Volvo.

As far as a 2:28.7..!.. I am pretty sure with the Onelap GTR i would be in the 2:12 range on the PSS... Or maybe faster.. At Roebling i ran a 1:13.4 on PSS...

After Driving the Boss on the PSS's (granted I had never driven it on track before on any other tire) I liked them. They feel much better then the PS2's. But to make the Boss time not look as good. I ran nearly the same lap time the following weekend in a S2000 with 100,000 miles on it, with the muffler cut off, off the shelf coil overs and old 225 hoosiers.

Sounds about Right. IIRC Derek Told me Tom Long did a 2:14 in the dead of summer in their overheating GTR in one lap trim at sebring. I also recall hearing the car overheated and there was some lifting in that lap. And this was a couple years ago so that would be the PS2's.

Just how much power are these "one lap" GTR's making to do a 212 at sebring on street tires?

I wish the one lap would publish MPH on the 1/4mile results so we could guesstimate HP.
We trapped 122mph in the GT2 and 113mph in the GT3 the years I did it.

I just did a 1/4 mph Calculator and it was within 20hp using the GT3 and GT2 trap speeds. Shows that Derek's Trap speed = 636whp. So probably in the 650whp range. We'll have to see what Leh's and Catesby's Trap speeds are and we can figure from there.
So Peter (85GOLD) you'll be there. Please pay attention to Trap Speed. ET doesn't matter that will get posted online.
