Default OT: C63 Black Series for sale at close to RS 4.0 prices

I was browsing everyone's favourite forum, and found this gem. The gentleman in question is looking to make a 50k profit from flipping his new C63 BS. Sad this car was resigned to being speculated on.

One of the replies said it all.

The AMG cars, while very well made and a riot to drive, lose value quickly. I'm not sure why that is. I bought a 2008 CLK 63 BS new, and there was no way you could get $50,000 over a $139,000 sticker. That car was very rare, more so than the new C63 BS will likely be. And the market for these cars has not improved all that much. Remember too, that the 997.1 GT3RS's were selling at a premium over MSRP. That's what led me to the CLK.

I wish him luck...

just wanted to add, I think both BS's are awesome cars. I just think they're pricing them a little out of their league.

there will always be not very smart flippers and even dumber buyers.
if you want to buy a fast car, buy a big block V8 american iron. not many euro cars can come close (i mean going straight). if you want to buy passion, porsche, ferrari, that's about it. what is AMG again?

base don the mileage on the clock, his intent was to flip.

hum.... anyone of you want to pay just 40k over for my 4.0? it's still less than 1000 miles ;-)

Can someone explain to me the allure of the AMG? I drove one years ago, and was not impressed. Sure, the grunt was there... and yes - they do look AWESOME....

Has the AMG progressed to become a *true* sports car, or is just more bling with some unbridled horses?

"If you're looking at this car, you know how rare it is, and how impossible it is to get one of these cars now"
Not impossible at all. I could write you a check but I'll pass. Here's hoping it's still sitting in your garage in 18 months with 59 miles on it, cool guy.

rare car means you can't get it repaired easily.
anything rare means bad. i collected a lot of very rare stuff.... blue toilet paper with hearts on them made in the 1920's...

panda SSD that cost me more to service than an overhaul on any of my p cars.

i am done with rare stuff.

i guess the seller just rubs me wrong way. i need a drink now. rare warm green beer with seaweed in it. care to join me?

a friend of mine was able to secure 2 units at MSRP. look around. but probably he had a deposit as soon as the news of the car came out. sold the car for a quick $5K profit. not too bad i think.

Sadly, car flippers will always be there. I don't wish them well when they are outrageously greedy as this seller is. I don't know the market for this car, but count it is THAT hot.
