OT: C63 Black Series for sale at close to RS 4.0 prices

Nice car, I'd bet it drives like a dream.
For the life of me I cannot understand the antipathy towards the so-called car speculators. If they receive a premium so be it, most of them probably loose money anyway.
Are all of you haters also going to vote for Obama?

Gotta say, it is a nice car - and likely to be the very last German sports-sedan with a dedicated N/A performance motor. Not that this will prevent it from dropping in value like every other AMG (I speak from experience), but I would not mind having one as a daily driver.
First I have seen of pricing on these - last I looked, they were not on the MBUSA website. Interesting that they are $30k cheaper than the CLK63 BS was 4 years ago - and if the seller is accurate with his numbers, more rare than the CLK63 BS - while the 911 and all of its performance variants have steadily gone up in price since then...
I don't understand the hate towards speculators in the automotive market, either. I have to think anybody that has the wherewithal to purchase a GT3 has successfully speculated on something at some point for financial gain.

This happened couple of weeks ago.
There was a very clean, like new 997 GT2. One owner, very low mile (2500). Owner intended to sell in private. Advertised price was exceptionally low! Buyer was eagerly awaiting OK from his bank, yet within 2 days of agreeing price to deal, a flipper turns up and offers to buy it right there and now, in cash.
As expected, monster of greed, "instantly" sell it to overseas buyer for a reported large profit. Thus not only deprived local buyer from getting that car and keeping it local, but has added to the insatiable appetite of overseas buyers for US market Porsche cars.
Flipping is an ugly practice...should be banned, one way or another...

1. This is not an example of 'flipping'.
2. A seller is under no obligation to 'keep a car local'.
3. A seller is under no obligation to squelch the 'appetite of overseas buyers'.
4. A seller is under no obligation to sell a car for less to a final buyer than more to a dealer for profit.
5. Cash is king.
Did the seller screw the initial buyer? Depends on the terms of the agreement. Not enough information here to know for sure.

I think you should be free to sell whatever you have to the highest bidder. I can't imagine anyone paying him a 50K premium for that car. A month ago I could have had one at MSRP. I have an 09 SL65 that was 210 new and they made 100 of. I bought it two years old at 115. Despite what we might wish very few modern cars hold their value.

The GT3RS is better though.

I agree.
A few years ago I bought an '05 CL 65. MSRP 182K. I paid 51K.
The car was 3 years old with 22K miles. Ouch. I bought extended warranty and drove it 3 years and 30K miles, sold it for 40K with a year of Mercedes Benz certified warranty left, or 100K miles. Still a good buy for the buyer. By far the best car I ever drove. Still one on the prettiest ever made to me, although I know most disagree..
A little harsch on the road and less good then a GT3? Never the less. impressive.

Those 6.2 liter AMG engines are awesome. You'd be a fool to argue that.
If you could get that kind of naturally aspirated power in a 911, that would be the cat's meow. Oh wait, that's the RUF RGT-8.

I owned an 03 CL55 a great car. I too think it was great looking.

Overall, the RS is more supple and provides more confidence. I do applaud MB for heading in that direction.
