Default Akrapovic for 2007 GT3RS

I'm considering between the Akrapovic Evolution vs the Evolution Race and would like to know if the Evolution system is considerably quiter (in car drone) than the Evolution Race? And if there is a significant power reduction.

Raulza,

Please let us know if you need any help choosing your system, the link Nizer provided has a lot of data and comparison. We carry Akrapovic system, and they are usually ready to go.

thank you

Shoot Mikymu a PM with questions. As you can see, he did a very thorough analysis and can probably answer any questions. FWIW, the Sport Cup system is a great solution for those that have to worry about emissions and CELs. It retains stock headers and cats replaces everything from there back with a single center muffler. Drops 46lbs and picks up some HP/TQ. If none of that is a concern and cost is not an issue then go with full Evo system. It gives you the option to run quiet with Ti side mufflers and still drops a bunch of weight. Can't go wrong either way.

Not sure where you're located but I've driven some of the roads around Capetown and False Bay. Memorable stuff.

I like the flexibility of making it quite when driving the RS in the suburbs and then giving it the full beans when possible.... so I am leaning towards the Akrapovic Evolution. Mikymost wasrehemsive and answered everything I wanted to know.

Nizer: Cape Town area is fantastic for driving, but unfortunatly Johannesburg (where I live) is not as scenic.

Agreed. But at least you can't fault the weather much.

As a total aside, I went to SA for the world cup. Spent some time in cap town and drove around. Place is amazing. Roads perfect along the water there and through the mountains to the wine country...awesome.

If you ever get back to South Africa, take a trip upto Krugerpark area, there are amazing roads in the forests there..... GT3's perfect hunting ground

Is it possible to rent a GT3 for such a trip?

The only thing I had in mind for SA before booking the trip was a Car article years and years ago about all of your BMW owners outfitting the running boards with swords that would spring out to chop off a robbers legs, or flame throwers, and electric shocking door handles. All cool stuff...all of which scared the crap out of me.

Then we land and are immediately greeted by very cool people offering us beer. People were so friendly and welcoming. Then I see Ferraris parked outside the road in Cape Town.

Talk about misconceptions. Loved the country.

We went on safari at Madikwe

I haven't seen any rental companies offering GT3's but maybe that should
be something that our local Porsche dealer should consider offering as a option/service... Next time I'm at Porsche I'll run the idea past them

What would the explanation be for the Akrapovic Evolution to produce more power and torque than the Akarapovic Evolution Race? I understand that it should be the other way round or am I missing something?
