Default Road Atlanta GT3 DE CUP

had a great time this weekend despite the cold temps after it was 70's all week leading up to the weekend. the cheating never stops as i didnt realize that grady dumped his .2 gt3 for a spanking new and clean RS. clarke continues to use his cheater hoosiers and as usual doesnt take long to learn the track and does a 1:33 on his not so trustworthy iphone lap timer( as peter would say) . i ended setting my personal best lap of 1:35.6 after working with andrew davis for one day on saturday. for some reason im not getting my videos to load but a local in his super duper fast 996 gt3 found his way into GT3 CUP world and posted this video

Very nice video!

That's one healthy 996!

Good driving Mike, Grady did not have the tires with his MPSC, but holds his own as always and I see Clarke is still using the dirt :-)

Looks like I missed some fun up there

Great video. It is good seeing your car and your driving from that perspective. Great example of how keeping the car flat and under control yields fast lap times. 1:35.6 is a fast time around Road Atlanta. Can't wait to see your videos when you get them up. Great time at dinner Saturday night.

Peter you did miss a fun weekend but it was cold. Sunny but windy and cold

Seth, would have been great to see you thgere, you brought the 4.0?

From the inside a 1:36 flat lap 9 (Cooked RA1's) a bit of traffic but the weather was cool. Cool is fast on RA1's.
I think I can do 1:35 there but I have not proven it yet.

I don't know what Grady and Clarke ran, but I am sure they are a bit faster then me, except maybe on the prime laps for RA1's laps 3/4 ;-)

Mike, let me know if you need some help uploading or syncing Traqmate.
I'm looking for my data, not sure if I still have it.

Excellent video! Mike, I was watching that session first from 10A/10B, and then from the top of the hill at 2. I thought you were really, really solid coming up aout of 1, maybe a bit far ot the right but you were super smooth under braking into 3 & back to gas quickly. Saw a few early apexes in 10A that put you on the gators at the exit of 10B, then you cleaned that up after like 2 laps. Very nice driving!

That 996 was...uh...overdriving a bit. Plus I had noticed earlier in the weekend that his car was very nervous in a lot of place,s not a great set up IMO.

As Seth said, dinner was a great time, THANKS AGAIN!

Seth, great to see you again.

Super cool vid and the 996 appears to have some silly power and nice sounding gears too I also like the drivers go for it style, good stuff

Yea that 996 was all over the place but he kept it on track and was having a blast while doing. He says it has not motor work, just re geared. Thanks for all the compliments and my cheater mods that are named Seth Thomas, dave scott, and Andrew davis are all paying off for me. Thanks guys!!

That 6GT3 looked evil, as in handling. Looked to me like it was underdamped by the way it was bouncing around.

Yup, and over sprung. It was....doing all sorts of weird oscillations down through T12 as well...

Understatement of the year. I couldn't even finish watching the video.
