I wasn't going to comment until I saw the post about flipping. This happens all the time and pisses me off. It happened with the CGT and all RS's and even the first Turbos released. I wish Porsche could follow who does it and never sell them a car again. The dealers know who they are in most cases. PCNA also knows but there as so many excuses it is hard to prove that the person actually had to sell it for hardship cases or bought it for flipping to make money. Unfortunately there are people who will buy these cars at a premium--I am not one. I would never buy a car from a dealer or private individual for 1 penny more than the list price. IMHO
I ordered my RS from Reeves in Tampa because they never sell over MSRP.
I would never pay over MSRP, but some people have the money to spend and like the instant gratification.
I ordered my RS in April '08 and ordered a GTR to carry me over.
Before the GTR arrived I found a GT3 and listed the GTR on ebay and got 15K over MSRP. I don't feel bad, they buyer was happy she got the car when she needed it.

I do not know about the rest of you but there is something about this orange color that amazes me and draws me in very much like the Riv Blu PTS GT3 RS 4.0 .....OP, expensive car but GLWS....I wish I could afford it! And with the fugly ugly 991 that is here and the 991 GT3 coming and the lack of excitement from me on a probable GT3 pdk only platform this may be the last good real 911 Porsche GT3 to own.

It is priced right IMO, and I don't think it would be fiscally prudent to get a car like this to flip in this climate. Heck, even if there is a premium in the asking price, it can't be a big one once you factor the PTS, black wheels, etc.
New 4.0 in Canada is MSRP of approx $245k, and the dollar is at par.
Good luck, but this car will sell.

ADD for grown-ups... NOT saying it's the case here, but I think that we all have it to some extent, just different levels of the 'affliction', but also obviously related to means.

Happy to say we have struck a deal and the car will be coming to my home in Indianapolis! I am excited to have it, and certainly will be using it a lot! Cant wait to get it here.
