Is this basically 'code word' for "I bought this car with the intent to 'flip' it"?

There seems to be quite a few RS 4.0s that come up for sale just as soon as they are delivered. I find difficult to understand how someone could purchase a car like this and only drive it a few hundred miles before selling it.

This inquiry is not directed solely at the OP, and it's not meant to be offensive. I'm just trying to understand this 'phenomenon', which seems to be fairly common.

There are some locals here that buy anything new that comes out, keep it a month or 2 and pick up the next latest and greatest car..

Do you really believe this to be the case?? Why would anyone ever buy a PTS car to flip? Things change, situations change...

Jochen, good luck with the sale...

I don't know. That's why I'm asking. Why can't you flip a PTS? You can call it 'one of a kind'. As I said, the inquiry was not directly soley at the OP. Situations seem to 'change' for more than just one or two 4.0 buyers. Bad luck/curse/poor choice, so be it. But it seems to 'me' to be more than just that.

I can understand that people will switch quickly to the next/newest thing, but these cars aren't even broken in and have barely been driven.

PTS added $8k on these cars if I'm not mistaken. You'd have to work hard to get to $250k sticker, even with the 4.0.

For me it's bad algebra.

Sell current RS X buy 4.0/price delta = divorce.

I wasn't going to comment until I saw the post about flipping. This happens all the time and pisses me off. It happened with the CGT and all RS's and even the first Turbos released. I wish Porsche could follow who does it and never sell them a car again. The dealers know who they are in most cases. PCNA also knows but there as so many excuses it is hard to prove that the person actually had to sell it for hardship cases or bought it for flipping to make money. Unfortunately there are people who will buy these cars at a premium--I am not one. I would never buy a car from a dealer or private individual for 1 penny more than the list price. IMHO
