Us RA1 boys are going to have to work for you Hoosier boys........Francois, I have been studying my old Mosport video chasing you....learning the track

I watched your video.
The 2 things that stand out to me are:
1) you are turning in early going over 4 - you can see this relative to Francois' line - you can also see how the curbing on the left just before you start breaking for 5a is getting in your way from going faster - turning in early for 4 is one of the hardest things to stop doing. Even if you feel better not setting up as wide as Francois at the top of 4, just don't make the initial turn in as abrupt - that is the other way to avoid the curbing at the bottom of 4 from preventing full throttle coming down 4.
2) you are getting off the throttle way to early coming over 8 - infact you start coasting up the hill and because the hill is quite steep you lose speed very very quickly - now, many people do this just out of safety as they see no reason to be going that fast as it isn't a race which is perfectly acceptable but you can easily take the indicated 140mph speed over the hill and then start breaking at the 2 1/2 marker - the second part of 8 that you can do better and you can see Francois early in the video doing it better, is and this may be one of the hardest things to do well at Mosport, is that most people over break into 8 - the entry speed into the initial part of 8 can be faster as you are still going uphill and even if you double apex it you are still over breaking on entry - Francois gaps you here and you see it in the video - just try and carry more speed deeper by releasing the brakes a bit earlier
At the end when you have a few clean laps you do between 5a and 5b very well carrying lots of speed and your arc is very good. If you were racing you would have to get down into 2nd from 3rd for a better launch - it is critical given how long the straight is - and you can see early in the vid how Francois again gaps you here as well - your 3.8rs should be catching him much faster down the back but you don't as you are too low in the rpms in 3rd coming out of 5b - the offset is that you are later doing between 5a and 5b well by concentrating on line and speed and not downshifting as well but you pay a price at the end of the straight into 8 by not launching in 2nd gear.
Those 3 thing take your 1:36 and make it a 1:345 if done well. Getting into pro territory after that is all about entry speed over #2 and #4 and getting to full throttle ASAP down those hills - that is what pro Empringham did with me in my car and what I try to describe to people but can't because I was scared ****tless by how fast we took #2.

Forgive me for getting to the story late (I've not been on Rennlist much lately) but is Mancation coming to Mosport this coming weekend for the NNJR DE event?
