+ 1 for Trailex
+ 2 for enclosed Trailex... if you can find one.

+1 on the enclosed especially if you are going on multi-day track events and want to keep your car safe from prying eyes (or worse) while sitting in the parking lot of Motel XYZ off of Interstate where ever. If you have the time, be patient and buy a used one it pays. I purchased my enclosed 2005 Trailex from a gentleman in Greenbay, Wisconsin in 2009 for $13,500. More than 8,000 miles, 6 different tracks and three years later I just sold it to a friend who does concours events for, you guessed it, $13,500. You get what you pay for.

V6 DFI Cayenne had no problems towing and got 14mpg fully loaded doing it.

As everyone has said, 7451 is a very tight fit. I have one, worked good with a 7.1GT3, but with the .2RS it has less than1/2" clearance on both sides (pics; https://rennlist.com/forums/7419006-post45.html ). Very Hard to drive up...but I have electric winch which makes it tolerable.

Quick question about the Cayenne with the CT-80180 Trailex.

Did you have good vision from the sideview mirrors? I had an enclosed trailer with my Cayenne before, and I couldn't say crap on either side.

I can't give up my CTT, it is my favorite DD.

Thanks Nick. It was deceptively small. I could fit my entire fan club, pit crew and all of my support equipment in there no problem

To NJ-GT:

Yes, rear traffic spotting was worse compared to when I had an open trailer but I bought a set of universal side view mirror mountings and that helped quite a bit.

Does that mean the V6 Toureg diesel could probably do it too?

Yes, there are many V6TDi Touareg's that tow trailers and cars to the track. I have been doing it for years with my V8 gasser.

Actually it the TRex Diesel does better, 16mpg-17mpg towing a light open trailer.

I get 13mpg with the CTT towing at normal speeds (65-70 mph) on flat Florida with the CT8045 and the Cayman. When towing the FIAT, it goes down to 11.8mpg, no idea why, but it must be the FIAT width and drag.

I tried multiple versions (4 different types) of attachment sideview mirrors, they just suck.

The Cayenne/Touareg/Q7 are narrow SUV, so an enclosed trailer make rear vision a nightmare.

I'll keep my open trailer, until a trailer manufacturer develops a narrow enclosed trailer with a loading hydraulic system for the car.
