Wanted to introduce myself and say hi to the members. I recently picked up a 997.1 GT3 and am still getting acquainted with it.

I've been reading over the posts on this site and learning quite a bit. Great place BTW.

One question! What oil are you guys running? I use Motul Xcess 5/40 in my Audi RS4 and I did an oil change in the .1 today and changed out the Mobil 0/40 that has been used in the car since day 1 with Motul. Anybody else run Xcess or 300V?

I also have a couple more questions about the car but they can wait. Now on to the pics.

The car came with that tow hook. It's been pulled and is now being stored in the car for track day.

Running Mobil 1 for oil.

If you are a track rat there are other oil brand options, but either way you are fine.

The wheel paint scheme isn't bad but the quality of the job is less than par. there is a chip and you can see the original red color underneath. Also the black isn't uniform on all wheels as it rides onto the lip in some areas. That being said, I am about to switch them out for some HRE's if I can't find something cheaper that I like. Like I read on one of these threads, cry once!

Anyways, thanks for the warm welcomes. I live in Arcadia, CA and hope to meet some of you folks in the future.

not actually sure what OEM transmission oil is ... I have always used it since the G50 in my RSA ... cant say if its better or worse ... but its always had good reviews in the past
