Seems to be cheap insurance, my only hesitation is that I don't expect to keep the car beyond the factory warranty and I'll trade it in and get zero value for the cpo cost. Agree if I resell it has value, but I'm usually too lazy to sell them on my own.

Congratulations. I saw you car at the dealer last week when they were cleaning it. My wife gave me the go ahead to order a new one last month (after seeing one in the Porsche display at Rennsport) - great timing because Porsche does not produce any of the GT cars due to the new 991 platform.
The one at Rennsport had the original Porsche logo on the lower door sides with the strip above and below. Looks real clean and different from the others.
Heres a pic.

What are the specs of your new 991 order? I'd love to see it. Do you attend MAM Fast Fridays?

Great car! It was a pleasure driving it for you!
Having driven your Spyder at RA for a whole weekend and having a GT3, I can tell you there is a difference. The spyder is very confidence inspiring and stable. On tracks where horsepower and long straights aren't too much of an issue (unlike RA), the spyder will turn in great lap times. The suspension and set up is precise, but, like everyone says, the power is lacking. You get out of the spyder at the end of a session and feel like a hero with not much sweat dripping from you. With the GT3, you are thinking and concentrating ALL THE TIME. One lapse in concentration, and boom, something bad can happen. You get out of the car and you are drenched in sweat since you were sitting on the edge of your seat the whole time. The car of course is more visceral, sounds better, and has way more power. You will notice the first time you drive it on the track, that things come at you much faster and there will be initially a zone of discomfort with the speeds. This changes and the car gets better and better. With the spyder (and my previous cayman S), the car felt like the limiting factor in my progress. With the GT3, it is the opposite and you will never get bored of it.
Let's get a deal on two 991 GT3 RS's when they come out! I'm serious.
Enjoy! Hope you can make it down to TX in December for some events. Take care and cool car.

Here's the other photos that I have. This one also had CB trunk lid and mirrors. List was $160K - don't remember the options.
Yeah I do go the those on Friday - but its been awhile. Are there any yet this year?
