Default Gt3 owners with gt2 rear sway bar

Wanted to see what settings you are running your away bars at. I'm running stock suspension with stock front bar and gt2 rear bar.

I run mine in the middle on the GT2 bar which is how Porsche sets it up on the .2 GT3's from the factory.

I'd avoid full stiff on the rear ... I ran it with "middle" when I had my .1 ... front was at factory default.

What does the GT2 bar buy you vs. the stock rear bar?

its stiffer! dials out some of that initial understeer that the .1 experiences...

one of the changes they made between the .1 & .2 was they stiffened the sways ...

popping the GT2 bar on the back of a .1 is one of the best value mods you can make to the handling!

You are correct - It is only $310 from Suncoast, including the bushings.

Can someone walk me through the rationale of this mod?

The .1 on full stiff is, well, stiff. Don't see why you would want it even stiffer. What does the gt2 bar do exactly?

the bar is essentially a lever/spring, stiffer is shorter lever softer is longer... so the hole at the end of the bar is full soft, the hole closest to the 'elbow' is full stiff

Think of the the bar as an adjustable spring (rate) with 3 or 5 settings rear/front... the GT2 bar is somewhat thicker, and therefore its selectable rates are different from the bar fitted.

full stiff on either bar is very stiff ... I personally found it to be challenging to drive my 996.2 on full stiff.

using the GT2 bar on the back in middle setting dials out more/enough of the understeer when compared to the bar fitted better than that bar, full stiff is probably too much and makes the rear end very dynamic...

YMMV

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. ---GT3.1

Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. ---GT2

So we take the bar of the mighty but slightly over-powered GT2 and put it in the GT3.1

And now we have a more balanced car and no wall.
