Default Back in the fold

So about a year ago I had a chance to fulfill a lifelong dream and buy a Ferrari. I sold my 996 GT3 and bought a Challenge Stradale. I have to say I think it is one of my favorite cars of all time but now less than a year later I am back to a Porsche.

The main reasons for me are that I missed the track, the CS is too expensive for consumables as well as wear and tear, it was also in my opinion too nice to take to the track. I was also worried about something breaking. The replacement costs for anything Ferrari are astronomical.

So long story short, I swapped the CS for GT3RS. I have to give credit as well as appreciation to Doug at Switchcas.com as he made this as enjoyable a transaction as I have had for any car purchase.

So I will dive in to this forum and learn all that I can and I can't wait to get back out on track. Looking forward to learning and driving a lot! I can't believe how much I missed shifting gears. Here are a couple pics.

Greg,
Congrats! By the looks of the background I'm guessing that your car has arrived in Jersey. My car arrived four days after I saw it in NJ. I'm going to try to get it on a track yet this year, it's far too capable to fully use on the street.

Congrads on your nice Mk1 GT3RS, it's a beauty!
I too came from a 996 GT3. What do you think of the difference between the two?

David, Thanks, hope you are enjoying your car.

I have not driven the car enough yet to make a good comparison. As soon as I get some seat time I will post a follow up. Thanks.

Guys,

Thanks again for all of the kind words. I can't wait to drive the .... out of this car. Again I cannot say enough good things about Doug at Switchcars, he really made this enjoyable.

Geepers Greg thanks for all the compliments!

To be honest, I got the short end of the stick. I sent him the sexiest GT3 RS on the planet and a boatload of cash and got a Ferrari back that is nowhere near as fun to drive.
