Default Flying Lizard Motorsport Reception tonight before Laguna Seca ALMS!

Just came back from a very nice reception & dinner with the Flying Lizard team and drivers Jörg Bergmeister and Patrick Long at Porsche of Monterey. They are here for this weekend's American LeMans race at Laguna Seca. This was an invitation-only catered event sponsored by PCNA, Porsche of Monterey and Flying Lizards MS. On display was gt car #80, now retired, which was pretty effective in the past year, including a decent show at LeMans in 2011. Also in attendance was the Panamera Turbo 'Safety Car' for all ALMS races.

I happen to have attended this year's race in France and saw these guys & Flying Lizard #80 in action at Le Sarthe (last two photos). Tonight, I had Jörg and Patrick autographed the cover of my new '12 Spyder's drivers manual! They were are charming individuals, besides being very talented young drivers. Flying Lizard is based in Northern California at Infineon-Sears Point, so this is considered their 'home' race. I wish them well on this race!

I hope some of you are heading out to Laguna Seca this weekend for this race, one of the last in the ALMS season. There will be a PCA/PCNA hospitality tent called 'Porscheplatz', alongside the Porsche Corral in the infield. I will be bringing my '73 'Signal Yellow' 911T Sunroof to the Corral (normally too dusty for the Spyder). See you there! Saludos, z356

My first year missing this event. Ugh. Would love to go! It's always a ton of fun. And, mikymu, you HAVE to run 680 in the Cup! :-D

That's guarantee 6 o'clock news highlight. You can always fly down ... it's only 1/2 hour by chopper

Patrick (or Jorg) during practice in their Flying Lizard #45 car at Laguna Seca today! They also gave a little talk (questions & answers period with the public) at the Flying Lizard MS garage on pit row at 12:30 PM. Wishing them well tomorrow for the 6 hour race! z356
