have not tried the car yet, and he's only had limited time in it, but his initial feedback is "improves the ride to approximately the level of a 997.2 RS".
hopefully the car will see some track time before X'mas, and he'll chime in with some feedback vs stock then.
cheers

sad news... turns out Graham Gleeson, the genius (by all accounts he was-- seven WRC championships is nothing to sneeze at) behind Exe-TC passed away earlier this year...
i wonder what this means for the company. was hoping to get a set of shocks for the 997.1 GT3... but without the driving force behind the firm... maybe this isn't a good idea anymore

The secret is in the valving. That and larger pistons. Rally stuff. The concept stays the same even with Graham gone.
I have the close to the same valving concept in my shocks and love them. Road and track.

Ohlins are supurb shocks. Build quality is the best.
The valving is different in the Ohlins then Exe-Tc.
Exe-Tc are valved like a rally shock. Lots of travel and powerful. It is a different concept. Not like other road shocks. They are tuned for track and could be thought of as "soft". The speed of the piston and the action is different then that of road shocks.
Exe-Tc can swallow up bumpy tracks with little to no drama.
A true shock guru could explain the differences.
It is a $12000.00 question

my car used to be maybe 60/40 track/street. but over the last few years with family and changed financial situation, that's now maybe 20/80 track/street.
so am willing to take a bit of compromise on track for a better ride on the street.
currently running 100% stock suspension (997.1 GT3) with PCCB's.
roads around these parts are quite bumpy-- broken asphalt and concrete. yes i know a GT3 isn't supposed to ride like a Turbo, but its the sort of conditions where when pushing on, the car can sometimes skip, especially under light braking when the surface lumpy.
by "better ride", i mean i get envious whenever i drive a 997.2 GT3 or RS. even that measure of improvement in overall damping and bump absorption vs my .1 is meaningful.
you think worth taking the plunge on the Exe-TC's?

Now, the thing with my shocks is that they do not become "soft" until they are under load. That is when they hit the sweet spot. Thus driving on the street in normal conditions it is not as noticeable as they are not under load like at speed or on a track.
I am assuming Exe-Tc are the same way given their valving.

hi hesperus,
below is a review of Chris Harris's GT3 (driven by someone else) with exe-tc suspension. hope you find it helpful

do they make a kit specifically for the .1 GT3 with settings for bad roads?
