Default MPSC v. Pilot Super Sport

Interested in hearing real life experiences between these two. Do the MPSCs ride harsher than the PSSs? Tread life? I'm clear that the PSSs are clearly better in the rain while the MPSCs might offer better stick given its lack of tread pattern.

Thanks in advance!

Do a search on the 997 forum....also here too...there were some threads covering this and sme member went to Dubai for the test and roll out and posted a review on rennlist too.

MPSC is a track tire you can drive on the street...PSS is a street tire with amaznign new technology but it's not a track tire like a r-comp is..but no problems driving it on the track.

Check out this thread where we talked about PSS's:

I have about 10 track days on mine and I love them. I drive to the events, so I needed something more multi-purpose than MPSCs.

Sounds like Michelin really did their homework with this one. Thanks.

MPSC is a much, much better track tire - more sticky, better turn in, and quiet. That being said, it only lasts 3-4 DEs, poor in any water, and expensive to keep replacing. The PSS are an excellent compromise since their performance and longevity are perfect for most casual DE drivers. Excellent bang for the buck, IMHO. I went through a set of pirelli corsa systems and a set of MPSC in just under 3000 miles on my GT3. I now have PSS and after a few track days and casual driving they still look new. IMO, the MPSC were the best handling and gave best performance though.

in terms of ride stiffness for street driving, how much softer do the PSSs feel?

I'm having a new set of PSS tires mounted on the GT3 tomorrow. My plan is to run them as a dual-use street/track tire. My next DE session will be in mid-August, and I hope to have a first report on the PSS then.

dont think you will be dissapointed; they are slower than MPSC or Corsa but not by much, they will last longer and wont kill you in the wet!

PSS are much softer and make street driving more comfortable. Subjective ride firmness: MPSC 9 out of 10; PSS 4-5 out of 10.

dont forget if you dont like the PSS you can return them within 30 days and replace with another Michelin tire (MPSC) vica-versa is not covered by the warranty.

I've been running RA1 and then R888 Toyo's. Anyone know how the PSS compares? How about the MPSC vs the Toyo....? MPSC last any longer to justify the $500 higher cost?

In my experience, MPSC wear out much quicker than RA1 and R888, but perform better. You're paying more for performance, quality, and name brand.

Larry, if Im not mistaken, the warranty is void if they sense you tracked the PSS. I saw somewhere not long ago where they stated this. Hopefully I am wrong though....
