Saw there was a lot of talk about the 7:19 ZR1 lap time in here, so thought Id post this....
Same driver who took the ZR1 around the ring in 7:19.63. He just took 20 seconds of the Z06 time!!!!!
EDIT:
This Z06 Corvette was equipped with the Z07 package which includes all the best bits from the ZR1, including Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, Chevrolet’s Performance Tracking Management, Magnetic Selective Ride Control and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure tires; the same super-sticky street-legal tires that the ZR1 was equipped with on its record ride.

Don't know what to say, this seems so unreal: way faster than GT2, GT2RS and predicted GT3 RS4.0, need to look at it again, and this wide angle makes the whole lap seem shorter....

Why? I think it would hold up to many laps...N/A and carbon brakes
haha, no...I test drove one about 1 year ago, right before I got my GT3 and I thought the Z06 just felt like a toy on the street. Didnt get to take it thru any turns or go full throttle I know its very fast, but just subjectively it felt flimsy and plastic...and didnt seem rigid at all, like when I would go over broken pavement felt like the car was flexing and bending.
Although on a track im sure as the time suggests its a whole different animal.

why? i ran AX with corvette club enough times to realize Z06 is a fine car, they do very fast laps in good hands. may be it has much less mystique than any p-car but it still can run.
and if you put in good seats, better brakes, may be different shocks and it will be quite fast. same things you do to e36m3 to enhance it, or what i did to my c2 one can do to z06. they all are fine cars, no reason to hate z06. still i personaly like 997 much better, imho it is more fun to drive than z06. but i would never underestimate it.

Over the last 6 years at Mosport, I've seen my share of sidelined vehicles, for lack of a better term. The vast majority were Corvettes. I think I've seen one Porsche with an issue, actually two, the second one was a GT3 RS.2, where a coolant hose let go. He was OK, the Ferrari behind him a write off.
