Well, I did it. After 2 years and 14K miles of bliss with my beloved 2010 GT3 I just traded it for a 2012 Cayman R. Probably crazy, but trade in and re-sale values for GT3's are good now since they aren't available anymore and i am really curious about the new Cayman R. It looks like a blast and by all accounts a pretty good package. It's an early July build so I should have it in August.
Since tracking my GT3 and moving up to the Solo group I've realized how much I have to learn. I freely admit that I can still get a bit preoccupied with...I'm driving a 100k car at 150 mph on a track in traffic, so I'm going to back off a bit and develop my track skills with a less expensive car. That said, I'm planning on getting the 2014 GT3 when it comes out. By then I'll have a better track foundation. I think the Cayman R will make a good track car with a few mods and it will be fun to research, install and exercise the mods.
In any event thanks to all for the incredible input from this forum. It helped me to buy my GT3 and better yet take good care of it. The people here are the best and the information is second to none!
You can bet I'll still be looking.
BTW , I'll have a lot of goodies to sell, like my GMG wheels ( here's your chance Trakcar), and roll bar, etc.
See you again in 2014!

No PDK. I still like to row the gears. Caymans shift like butter compared to our cars anyway.
