Default Does the 997 have one more year at Le Mans?

Was this the last running of the 997RSR at Le Mans or is there one more year before the 991 competes? I know the road cars are introduced this Fall, so I guess that's enough lead time for the 991 racers?

I believe the 2012 race will be the last year for the 997 RSRs. I believe the GT3 and Turbo versions of the 991 are excepted late 2012, and the Cup and RSR versions will follow in the months thereafter. I'm not quite sure though, that's just my guess.

I tend to agree, we need to see a 991 road car before the motorsport variants appear... also with a new 9A1 variant engine!

Mind us there'll be the 918 racer... how that slots into homologated racing is still a question...

good point, longer term I wonder if Porsche will develop a race car on the R8 platform, assuming they badge a road car as well?
