Default Sears Point Videos

Finally got out to Sears Point with Gisele. I hadn't been in years, so I thought it would be wise to have an expert show me the finer points of driving a Porsche on such a challenging (and scary!) race track. Robb Todd of BR Racing in Los Gatos was there to support a few of his customers and I was lucky to have him agree to join me for a session.

Here's Robb showing how it's done!

Once we swap seats, you can see right away that I've got lots to learn. LOL

Once I got up the courage to put the hammer down out of the esses and all the way down to the hairpin at T11, it was like magic. A feeling of sheer euphoria!

Can't thank Robb and his crew enough for all their support, enthusiasm and hospitality. A great day! I'm looking forward to doing Buttonwillow next weekend with the PCA's Golden Gate Region. Come join us for another threesome!

No kidding! Nearly every single time I was at track out at the exit of T11, I kept thinking "I'm going to knock my mirror off on that damn wall!"

Hey,

I was there that day too. I am to the left at the track entrance in the red shirt next to the Nissan NV high roof van. I saw your car, should have come over and said hi and asked if you were on RL.
I am sure you had fun it was a perfect day at Sears.

Hi Joe. My bad for not walking around that day to stop and chat with all the P-car owners, as I normally do. I was hanging around the BR hauler, trying to soak up as my knowledge as possible. Frank, their data guru up from GMG, was amazing. The Motec data analysis s/w was so powerful and fast! But, it should be for the price he mentioned. Yicks!!!

No prob, I was not driving my p-car. I was driving and working the new Nissan High roof NV Van. It was killing me to be working and not being able to drive on track. Had a great talk with nice guy Brian(senior engineer) at BR Racing.
Its great to get a ride with faster drivers in your own car to find out there is more in the car, the driver just needs to keep slowly building experience to get to that point.

I love sp- my favorite track and doesn't hurt that I'm only 40 or so mins from where I live. Extremely rewarding momentum track : ). Nice vid Lar : ). Mike

Nice vid, Lar. I remember riding shotgun in BRR's BMW racecar few years back at TH. It was an eye opener for sure.

Really smooth driving Lar. Don't worry so much about speed, it'll come in time. For now, us amateurs need a lot of practice

that's T10.
T11 is the last hair pin.

the fast SM rub the mirror on that wall to stop further drifting to the left.

Great video and beautiful car! Are you on 19" GMG WC-GT wheels?

Looking forward to experiencing SP first-hand in July! Will certainly be playing this before the trackday!

Ah, yes! You have excellent taste, sir!

Yes, these are 19" GMG wheels. Had far too many problems with the Forged Alloy wheels I purchased late last year. Don't ever waste your money on those!
