From the way that the parts are laid in the film, and from the plethora of common parts, I would say that if you order each and everyone of the 4L individual engine parts you can easily convert your 3.8 GT3 or 2010RS to a 4L.

And the cost couldn't possibly exceed 80.000USD. ? : )

I think the important parts are the engine, intake, and suspension. Most will go aftermarket for the suspension anyway. The key is to find a shop with good experience in make the necessary modifications to the engine. If it's only strokes with no changes to the cylinder lining, then this shouldn't be an expensive project. I would love to undertake this project once the warranty is up.

Inexpensive? Crank - 9k. Rods - 6k. We're up to 15k in parts and we haven't even scratched the surface.

Just to put things in perspective, PMNA charges 25k+ for a cup car engine rebuild.

My notes on pricing above in red font. On Request is not to me, it's to Porsche. I suspect you might need a VIN to get the pricing. Like many of the GT2RS parts, the OE pricing is meant to discourage parts swapping. Price a 2RS rear toe control arm to see what I mean.

its probably because its painted (or primed) and not lacquered as found on 3.8L?

Note for 3.8L RS owners installing the canards you *should* also obtain the 4.0 Wing uprights; since the 4.0 cants its rear wing an additional 3 degrees more than the 3.8 to balance the effects of the front canards...

Not a clue, PET illustration should clarify this ... I'm guessing that they are bolted

My bumper is off now for new brake ducts and will come off again after Mancation to get the car re wrapped in clear bra with the new Xpel product coming out in the next few weeks, so I could do it then.

I already have the CUP front lip + canards, might be OK with Max 3.8 wing and Gurney.
If not I would more likely go to the much taller CUP uprights (But not the giga wide CUP wing) so I can actually see the cops coming in the rear view mirror.....

Why wouldn't you just fit the 4.0 uprights to cant the wing at the correct angle to balance the canards?

On the RS 4.0 the rear wing is painted, instead of CF that's lacquered (as said), and it's positioned at a steeper angle than the RS 3.8, which provides more down force, and is also the reason for the canards at the front which balance out the down force in the front and rear.

Because I think it blocks even more rearward view the CUP uprights are at least as adjustable or even more so.

Not so sure I have to do anything with the rear spoiler, the Gurney might just be enough.
I will know in October after Daytona. The GT3 with Cup lip and rear wing set max felt like it was going to take off, I had to take rear wing off..
