The 2010 GT3 exhausts are well made and with the appropriate diameter piping for the GT3 and RS engine outputs. The only true negative thing about them is the weight. Kind of unavoidable considering that these cars still have to comply with sound limitations on registration.
On the other hand the cats are indeed the most restrictive part of this system and a possible change could release a few HP. If this change is combined with a proper DME upgrade, I don't see any negative aspect to it.
The question is what the price for these oem cats will be..
With the current Porsche price policy I don't think that this upgrade would make sense in a value for money sort of way.
A quality after market system could be cheaper..

I am not sure but from what I read the lid is lighter.
Or as James said perhaps the internal intake contour is different indeed.
I also read that it has a different AOA.
Now if you ask me, if I had a GT3RS I would just change the uprights and raise the wing to the roofline and a bit to the back.
Theoretically this would increase down-force and decrease the drag coefficient..

Don't forget the degree of angle is steeper on the 4.0 to match the downforce from the canards. It doesn't seem like we can adjust our wings if one added the dive planes
