2007 GT3 RS
Hello,
I've recently acquired my first Porsche, a GT3 RS none the less.
After driving for a few days, I've noticed the engine generates quite a bit of heat, is this normal? I could feel the heat radiating from the engine vents.
Being used to front engine mounted vehicles, where no vents are present and therefore no heat could be noticed, even though it may be there.
I'd appreciate any light that could be shed on this, and as well if there is any other areas heat is commonly generated, so I can understand.
Thank you,
danes

Congratulations and welcome.
Yes, heat is normal, and just wait until you start smelling funny smells and hearing all sorts of funny sounds. It's quite endearing

as stated; there will be many new sounds, smells, vibrations and fluctuations in car feedback that will worry you at first and ultimately, comfort you, in an envelope of performance.

Mine hates sitting still. AC gives up and oil temp starts to rise. On track days, after a session opening the trunk is out of the question.
Rear decklid radiates heat. Doesn't click or hiss or anything.
Let us know when you start hearing the clacking on start-up, or the whine of your LSD (if its working). Your roll cage should chirp and skip. The car is quite conversational.
Congrats.
