How much better is the .2GT3/RS vs the .1GT3/RS??

My guess is that it all washes.
And thus we are back to tires. The upsized front sticky 710s that made the car neutral.
The 997gt2 with the bigger rear bar that many have retro-fitted into mk1 gt3/rs also came with a 235 front tire so this again should be taken into consideration.
Personally, I like the idea of fitting as much front tire as possible for better braking and increased front grip, but then also mating it with a stiffer front bar setting to stabilize the entire platform for aggressive corner entry under braking and then keeping the rear bar as soft as will allow so you can be very aggressive on the throttle mid corner.
When the mk1 cars were originally delivered, many of the faster drivers were very disappointed that they couldn't get the car to turn like the 996gt3 did so an upgraded rear sway was the solution. As more 19" tires became available, and 18" rims started getting put on 997gt3s for track use, basically running a proper, non N-Spec, track tire upfront in a 245-255 size made the cars perform as they should.
In 19s, the 235/35/19, 315/30/19 Hoosier R6s (when actually measured fit like 250/35 and 305/30) and perfectly balance and mk1.

I purchased a 07 GT3RS & absolutely love it!
I can't compare it to other GT3/RS's since I haven't had the chance to drive either, but the speed, sound, handling, braking & overall viseral experience is unlike anything else I've ever driven. Plus it looks killer - I just removed the all the decals.
I wonder if the differences in weight between the 07's & 10's is also due to the newer lighter GT2 style seats in the 10's?
A few nice upgrades to either 07 GT3 or RS:
Sharkwerks Muffler Bypass
GT2 style seats
Rear Cup toe links
Agressive Alignment - depending on how many track events you want to attend
EVOMSit Software: increase 15hp & 14lbs/torque
(21hp & 22lbs w/ Sharkweks Muffler Bypass)
& wola, the older cars are almost at the '10 GT3 level.
Although the '10 GT3RS definately is more than the sum of it's parts.
Eitherway, you definately can't go wrong with either series of the GT cars - all depends on your budget.

And a better ring and pinion and more hp on the .2
But centerlocks may negate the upside :-)
.2 RS at 120 ish vs a .1 RS at 95 - worth the delta for the incremental improvements.., but that is sw 3.9 territory
